My third cup of coffee came with the latest Rasmussen - net stronglys at minus 19 for Obama. That is brutal by any measure.

Obama's base is leaving him in droves. I see two things happening in the collapse - one out of the Rasmussen internals, the other my speculation.

Rasmussen shares that on fiscal policy, a mere 1% strongly approve while 81% strongly disapprove. "Fiscal policy" to us common folk is the budget. One percent? That's a third of the margin of error. It is possible that out of the entire American population of likely voters the only supporters of Obama's fiscal policy are people named "George" that are cat owners who knit cat socks for therapy but are hetero in spite of occasionally wearing clothes that make them feel pretty. But then we need to layer in that lots of people responding to polls lie or supply an answer in spite of not understanding the question. It is possible, perhaps approaching probably, that not a single likely voter in this country supports Obama's fiscal policy. Ouch.
