I have girls 3 and 6 and they are just learning to ice skate, but each time we come off the ice their feet are freezing and they are in tears before I get their skates off. I was told to put two pair of dry socks on before their skates, and that will work - I was told to let them wear a different pair of socks to skating and remove those socks before I put the other two dry pair on - so no sweat can build up in these socks from their boots.

But that has not worked. I use cotton socks, should I use wool? What else can I do, I just hate having them with cold, soar feet and in tears every time we skate. Unfortunately the rink is very cold where they take their lessons...so that does not help.

Any tips on keeping kids feet warm - in skates - in boots - any time????

oh wool would be an improvement. typically in hiking boots people use "hikers and liners" hikers being thick warm wool socks and liners being thin (nylon?) socks. the liners go against the skin under the hikers. if you practice this strategy take them to the rink in a pair and change them after they are done skating. this also helps tp reduce friction and thus prevent blisters. that's all i got for you.

Wool socks are far warmer than cotton socks. Cotton also does not keep you warm once it gets wet, so if your feet sweat while skating, your feet are going to get cold a lot faster.

Wool socks with a liner sock that will wick the moisture away from the feet will help a lot. Also, you can get feet warmers that will slip right into a boot or skate. Very handy.

I'm an Irish Catholic (like there's any other type of Irish person?) but i've lived in Ireland my whole life, never claimed the dole or want it. Worked my wee cotton socks off and paid tax. But the average Irish Catholic family is 5 kids plus mum and dad. Now if Mohamed K Mohamed and his 3 wives can claim the dole, and claim for his extended family why don't I do the same? i could knock 5 women up the morrow, get them up the duff and sit back and rest easy on dickey money. I'm asking whats the average amount of kids your average Pakistani has?

I was home schooled my whole life, and any kind of "art" projects that
my mom made us do were useful things.

Now that I'm older I see all these little kids CONSTANTLY bringing home
these things that they make at school. I think that
A. They're wasting things like paper, glue, paint, buttons..Etc
B. They're just cluttering the parents home up.
You can only show off your kids "art" so much.

Maybe if they got the kids to make something that was a bit more
useful. Not a sock with cotton stuffed in it, and decorative buttons
on glued onto it. What's that even suppose to be? and is it even
teaching our kids anything?? How to use glue? seriously?
Kids drawings of nothing but scribbles, I love it!
But when the TEACHERS are doing 90% of
the work, and just telling the kid how to do the
other 10%, yeah..Not loving that so much.
