Heavy Cotton Socks

Anyone know a good website to buy mesh hockey socks? Grew up and place ice hockey in the northeast. Now I am in Texas and want to start playing again... only problem is i lost my old socks. There is a lack of hockey equipment stores in Texas and all i can find are heavy cotton/knit socks... Just want the light weight mesh type hockey socks i have lost!

Here's the deal:

I get in this morning, wearing my muks and nice thick socks to work, to change into pumps when I get there--I get myself a nice hot cup of tea and I'm changing into my pumps...and knock the tea off the desk--SPILLING it onto my socked FOOT!

My heavy cotton sock SOAKS up the boiling water and BROILS my toes...I LEAP from my chair with a VERY unladylike whoop, and then start hopping around the office frantically pulling off the sock....

EXACTLY at that moment, my secret office heart-throb walks through the door! So here's me: "Ow ow ow ow owooooo!" hopping up and down in my stocking feet with my sock in one hand and fanning my foot with the other.

And he gives me a quick glance as he's walking by--and keeps on WALKING!

I am SOOOOO embarrassed--looking like a total goober! And our Halloween party is coming up. Is there any possibility he will ever look at me as anything other than a DOOFUS????

If he looks at you any differently from now on then he is the doofus.It would take a shallow, small minded person to treat someone differently because they saw someone doing that when they had burnt their foot, you were in pain. However maybe he didn't know you had burnt your foot ?.Maybe you could talk to him at the party and bring up the subject in a jokey way and crack a joke.
Its natural to feel embarrassed in that sort of situation but if he treats you any differently then it really is his loss.You can do better.

I have to wear steel toes boots for my work. It's been hot lately and I've been dripping sweat an awful lot. I wear cotton socks but sincethey are encased in heavy boots, they don't breathe. I think the salt from my sweat is giving me these spots. My socks are completely soaked with sweat when I take them off at night. Is there a cream I can get to get rid of them?

Definately new socks to start with....there are better ones to soak up the sweat better and with the ability to keep your skin a bit more protected. However, your predicament is not great. I too would go with the benedryl topical cream at night..there are a few others too in the same section at the store. The powders could potentially help too- but I would start with changing of sock brands or even switching in new ones at lunch. The benedryl will help with the bumps at night though. Maybe talk with the others at work and compare...maybe they have a better brand of boots too that will help.

They do not swell, but it feels like I have a heavy pair of cotton socks on just the bottom of my feet. I feel like I'm in good health I exercise daily, Sugar and Blood pressure and cholesterol are great.

Hi! There are certain items I need for a 2 week long hike.
On the packing list that I was given it said that I needed a set of long underwear (tops and bottoms: wool or synthetic) and no cotton

I have no idea what that means, what it looks like, or where to get such a thing. It would be extremely helpful if someone could describe it and find a picture of it so that I could see what it is exactly and tell me where I can get such an item. Thanks!

On more thing that I have a question on is: what exactly are heavy socks (wool/synthetic)?

I got a bag of synthetic crew cut socks, is that appropriate?

they prob mean thermal wear.
Its used to provide an insulating layer in addition to a sweater or jacket Just go to walmart in the underwear section and look for thermals.
