Cotton Foot Socks

I noticed coolmax and other types of special polyesters that supposedly wick better than cotton, but I've noticed cotton socks treated with antimicrobial stuff like microban. But I haven't found socks with both. The black socks sold in stores aren't good for my feet, since they're usually made of polyester which ends up making my feet sweaty. Can I dye my white cotton socks with something to make them look black? Does anyone have experience doing this?

At Walmart they sell black gym socks which are cotton and not expensive at all. They may have black gym socks at a sporting good store too but a little more pricey. I wear black gym socks for work and they look like dress socks. Dying is such a hassle but it can be done. Use Rit dye. They may run when you sweat though.

If you dye I'll never speak to you again! heh-heh

my girlfreind wears thin socks that makes her feet stink for some reason. when she wears thick white cotton socks her feet don't smell that bad.

she probably thinks the thin ones are more comfortable

My husband works outside & needs warm (thicker) socks. He doesn't like synthetic materials b/c they make his feet sweat.

I'd like to purchase 100% cotton socks for him (online), and preferably made in USA and sold through someone here in the States.

For a made in the USA 100% organic cotton sock try rawganique.com. Keep in mind there really isn't a 100% cotton sock because without elastic/lycra, the sock would not stay up. However for a warm and thick sock I would highly recommend a wool sock.

Wool keeps the sweat and moisture away from the foot and just a little more info on 100% Cotton, cotton socks fail the blister test...
