Cotton Athletic Socks

I am just wondering are most athletic/sports socks found in department stores such as Walmart, Roses, Target, or Kmart made of mostly cotton? I've never wondered about this until now.
Yes but JAN, no socks are completely 100% cotton. The sport ones I usually buy are 75 -80% cotton. Is that enough?

No they are not all made of cotton. You should read the package and make sure you are getting 100% cotton socks. They are much better for your feet.

Is it my socks? Shoes? I run in thin, athletic, cotton socks. I always got blisters when I ran in high school as well, but they seemed to go away once I got use to running long distances.
Also, should I pop the blisters or just leave them alone?

Buy a pair of double layer socks from a store like 'The Running Room'. They are guaranteed to be blister free. The two layers work to protect your feet from blistering. I run about 40 miles a week and do half-marathons and marathons and never get blisters. These socks are like magic - ten years ago I use to run a lot with normal sports socks and would blister constantly.

what type of socks do you wear in your skates? I wear typical cotton athletic tubes, but they get wet and my feet get cold. I've heard to wear thin, but then you don't get the absorption. I've also heard to go barefoot, but then I get rubs and my feet get slimy. Do they make socks similar to cycling or outdoors socks, e.g. coolmax, that is a good sock inside of hockey skates? Who sells such socks?

i would go with under armor sock. they keep your feet dry and warm ( if you get winter season) and they also come in diff. thicknesses and are very comfortable
