100 Cotton Dress Socks

Answers

Hey Guys, I bought these really nice Tommy Hilfiger black dress socks that are 100% cotton...?

But I am sitting at work and I had to take my feet out of my shoes because my feet are drenched in sweat.. What gives?? I thought cotton socks prevent this.. Is it my shoes?? I know the heel of my shoes are hard as a rock.. Could that be it??

Oh geez, not again!!!

I think you misunderstood people - cotton socks don't completely prevent foot sweating, but they absorb more sweat. You must be extra sweaty. Maybe try out some new shoes. Perhaps theres a glandular problem.

Thin Cotton Pattern Dress Socks and Cole Haan Loafers

I've been wearing these navy blue patterned dress socks for several days now; they are Unspeakably Rank and Sweaty!! So I decided to finally ...

How much more do guys who dress nice/professionally get noticed over guys who don't?

For example: a guy who wears 100% wool cotton slacks, matching socks, with a iron button down collared shirt, nice shoes with matching belt... versus a guy who wears blue jeans, tennis shoes, white socks, and a polo. If it were the same guy, but just dressed differently as described above, how much more would you notice one over the other? I'm trying to prove a point to my guy friends.
The question is "who is noticed more" not who intimidates you? This question is not for intimidated people. Its a question of, from afar, would you notice the nicely dress man or the casual guy, from afar.
the first guy is not wearing a suit, I did not mention a sports jacket.

I think it depends on the occasion. I'd notice a dude wearing the fancy stuff at a fancy get together, but out and about or at school, I'd definitely notice the casual dude.

how to dress working from the bosses house?

I work for an attorney, and we are in a building that is being remodeled, so from now until about Jan 11 two other employees and I will be working out of our bosses home .

He let us know that we can dress 100 per cent casual, and since he and his wife have a no shoes policy we can either bring slippers or work in our socks. Since it is winter I have plenty of warm clothes to wear.

At home, I usually just wear white cotton socks in my boots, but i wonder if I should buy a few pairs of dark socks for variety. I really dont slippers so I will take advantage of dressing down.

No one will see me besides my co-workers and maybe the bosses family.

Any ideas

Dress like you would at work, other than the shoes, the first day. Then adjust as you think appropriate.

Why not buy those footsies socks with the rubber soles on bottom. They will keep your feet warm and provide good traction. I'm including a link n case you have no idea what I am referring to. Happy Holidays.

Does anybody mind helping a college student with their laundry, haha?

Okay, first off I feel really embarrassed asking this *blushes*. I guess my mother's laundering skills were just something I never picked up. So I need help. I wouldn't normally care, and I'd just shove all my whites, reds, towels and jeans in one load and set it to "warm", but all the clothes I bought for college this year were expensive, business, office-type clothes, so I really do not want to ruin them. So do you think you could please help with the whole sorting thing? I would give you more than 10 points if I could. A nice fruit basket or something. :)

Okay, all of these clothes are brand new, haven't been washed yet, which means they'll probably bleed, right? Oh, and I'd like to keep down the number of loads, since it costs me $2.50 to do a load of laundry at my college (eek!).

So should I just tell you what I have, and you can help me out?

(by the way, all of these are "wash cold" and "tumble dry low", except for the green dress, which is "wash warm" and "tumble dry medium", and the khaki pants, which I could find no laundering instructions for)

gray sweater
dark gray vest
blue and brown print tunic, 100% silk
light blue striped blouse,100% cotton
kimono (black with pink print)
pink camisole
khaki dress pants
green jersey summer dress
grey dress pants
bright red sweater
bright red knit summer dress
white collared shirt
white cardigan
white camisole
white T-shirt
coral-colored blouse
orange T-shirt
also lots of jeans, socks, and underwear

Some things like the "whites" category I have, but other things I have trouble sorting. Like, I have no clue where I'm supposed to put that silk blue tunic. Or the striped blue cotton blouse that is too light to go in darks, too dark to go in lights. Or the green dress, which is the only item with different washing instructions.

And socks and underwear. Do you all sort yours? My mom used to sort her socks and underwear. Is that really necessary? If not, what "category" do they go in?

Last question, I promise. What are the laundry machine equivalents of "wash cold" and "dry low"? My machine only has "whites", "brights", "permanent press", etc.

Thanks! You've all been a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG HELP!!!!! =D

Any more info needed, just ask :)

You both are wonderful. Thank you so much! :)

Okay, here's what I think:

Cold (this would be the "brights" setting)
Jeans
Orange t-shirt
Black kimono
Gray vest

Warm (I think this would be the "permanent press" setting)
Gray pants
Green dress
Khaki pants
Pink camisole
Light blue blouse

Whites (hot water wash)
Socks
Underwear
(don't put bras in the dryer as this will burn up the elastic)
White camisole (if it isn't made of silk)
White collared shirt
Towels (if not dark colored)

It depends (possibly by hand or dryclean)
Coral blouse
White cardigan
Bright red dress
Red sweater
Blue silk top
Gray sweater

What does it depend on? What fabric the clothes are made of. If the coral blouse really says you can wash it, put it in with the darks. Same with the red dress and sweater and the gray sweater; the white cardigan should go with the light colors.

As to drying, NEVER put ANYTHING made of silk in the dryer. Not even if it says you can. Similarly, any clothes containing wool should not be put in the dryer. Knits like sweaters shouldn't be dried because it will cause either shrinking or pilling (little puffy balls forming on your clothes). You can hang these clothes in your bathroom or your dorm room, depending on what your living setup is.

Not all dyes will bleed. In general, red does, which is the main reason I recommended washing those items by hand. Dark blue is also bad for this and some black dyes. Clothing dyes have come a long way in the past several years and this problem isn't as prevalent as it used to be. If you do have clothes that bleed, there are ways you can stop this involving salt-water soaks. I've given you a link below.

The way I have set this up gives you three loads. This probably seems like quite a bit, but compare the $2.50 to the cost of replacing your clothes.
