Stretch Cotton Skirt

I am looking for a couple of inexpensive (under $20) a-line or broomstick swishy style skirts made from stretch easy wear cotton with an elastic waist. I want the skirt to fall below my knees and I am really short (only about 5 feet tall.) I want them in plain wear with anything colors like tan or brown or even black. I have a 6 month old so they need to be machine wash and wear.

I have one yard of cotton with beautiful fairies on it (it sounds cheesy but its very romantic) and I'd love to make something of it, but i cant think of anything. I cant really use a pillow or yet another bag, so i was thinking about making a top or a skirt or something... does anyone have a nice idea for non-stretch cotton?

One yard is enough for sleeves and a collar to snap onto a T-shirt or be sewn onto a leotard top. There would still be nice display of the pattern, but it wouldn't have the extra bulk of layering with a full blouse.

One yard is enough for a camisole, to be glimpsed under a jacket or cardigan or worn with slacks or shorts in summer's heat.

One yard is enough to line the bodice of a jacket or converted sweatshirt.

One yard is enough make a long scarf or narrow stole.

One yard will provide a top band for a top sheet and end bands for the top open edge of two pillow cases.

One yard is not enough for a skirt unless you're teensy. One yard might be enough for gore inserts at the hemline of a skirt. These should be bias-cut tall triangles for better drape. The fabric could be used for facing box pleats, where it would flash with activity but hide when at ease.

i bought this really nice skirt online but when it came i noticed it was a medium instead of a small..the material is stretch cotton..is there any way i can shrink it in the was or an other way??! please help ..its too late to return

Take it to a reliable tailor and have them take it in on the sides. :)

and of course opaque, i mean non transparent skirt that you can't see through; not latex, leather or pvc.
Just a normal miniskirt in cotton/spandex that you can wear normally in the street.

ps : don't tell me to try ebay, i've already try it whitout success. Tell me a website who sells it normally.

I'm a high school junior (17 years old) and female. We're having a serious debate and we need to be appropriately dressed...can anyone make me an outfit or find me stores that sell dress clothes that aren't too expensive? I'd like to look fashionable too!

Rules:

- Dress/Skirt must hit at least 1 inch above the knee
- Neutral colors
- No open-toed shoes or heels exceeding 3 inches
- No sweaters or stretch cotton shirts
- Stockings must be black, navy, or dark gray

Does your community have a good consignment store that includes women's clothes? You can sometimes get high quality for less in such places. I know a lot of professional women that sell last year's outfits in such places. What you describe is classic and you should be able to find it.
