Plus Size Cotton Skirt

i like them not floor length, but not miniskirts, like a little longer than knee. the problem is i am plus-sized. i want at least 2, but no, like, clasps, just stretch waistbands. i love the tye-dye ones like on the pyramid collection.com, but less expensive. do you know where i can get them? thank you!

these are just some outfits i put together on how to wear a skirt

I am currently unemployed but the next job I get is likely to be in a place where I have to wear business casual. Probably no jeans, etc. This is honestly the bulk of my wardrobe. Beach casual, sweats, loungewear, and the like. Lots of cotton teeshirts.

Aside from this really casual stuff, I have a couple of the sweaters that tie at the top and spread open with sleeves, not a cape. One red, one black. I have a knee length stretchy shiny knit skirt. I have a black stretchy shirt and aqua blue tank. I have ONE pair of pointy toe dress shoes. I have a pair of nice black slacks. And I do have the proper lingerie to go with these. Good bras, slips, etc.

Can you think of any really basic and essential pieces that would work to expand these into more outfits? Concerned about comfort and confidence, just a minimal stretch from my comfort zone. Low upkeep garments too. Also not able to spend much.

OH body type. I am plus size with a flat butt, nice legs and busty.

The reasons I am unemployed, thank you...is because my mother died in December and I have taken some time to take care of her affairs and get myself together before I go back into a job.

Before that, for THREE years (triple the usual length of stay) I worked at a wilderness camp helping at risk teens get their lives together. That coincidentally is why...I don't have a professional wardrobe.

I decided to quit my job because I am going through a lot, and I knew it wasn't fair to my kids at work to not give them 100%...plus after three years of camping and hiking and sleeping in the rain, I am ready for some 9-5 less personal involvement way of making a living.

Does anyone else have a wisecrack to share?

I was in the same boat 2 years ago. the job I had before this one I couldn't dress too nice since I was liable to be elbow deep in pastery at any moment. I worked as a restaraunt book keeper but I was also the resident baker, prep cook, ect.

Basics for business casual for busty plus size girl. Hey that's me...

Skirts..one black either pencil or A line to the knee at least one other of another color or patterned but taylored not bohemian
Slacks.. one black, one brown, one grey all taylored and wider legs worn with ballet flats, boots or heels.
Blouses/sweaters.. since you have a nice chest, show it off Deep V's are the best for this. If you are curvy, taylored button up shirts are great.
Shoes.. Wear nice dress shoes not clunky chunky boats like birkenstocks or things like that. I love my birks but I only wear them on casual fridays with jeans.

As for ways not to spend a lot of money... I shop at Lane Bryant or Torrid when I can afford it. I also shop at Gabriel Brother's (They carry Lane Bryant stuff sometimes) Ebay is my best friend and don't be too proud to shop at Goodwill and places like that, especially the ones in richer neighborhoods. You have to dig but you can sometimes find some good things.

Good Luck with the job hunt. Best advise I ever got about dressing for a job interview was dress for the job you want not necessarily the one you are applying for. Wear a really nice outfit for the interview but don't go overboard.

I am meeting with a potential manager and investor(someone who is looking to help me develop a small insurance company by providing support, tech support and by contracting a couple of agents to me) Iam driving to Orlando from Tampa to meet him Friday for lunch. Iam thiniking that I will go business casual but I also want to appear classy and sophisticated. I say this because I have a babyface and I am also plus sized. I want to appear succesful and approachable as well. Iam thinking of wearing a cotton black v neck 3/4 sleeve shirt. I am a blond. What should I wear as a bottom. What cut, what color, what fabric.Pants or skirt I will prpbably wear black paton leather flats, that have a gold buckle. I have nicely manicured hands that I wear a classy red shade on(from MAC) and they are short and manicured. My makeup has a golden/earth tone to it, to bring out my blue eyes. Should I wear gold jewelry or silver, Brighton? I was thinking gold because it's winter and all... advice , please
If I choose a skirt, should I wear hose. Ive heard that it's not expected anymore...that it's outdated for younger women.

Shirt sounds perfect, you can even throw on a blazer for a little dressier look. I would keep the jewelry gold to match with the buckle on your shoes. For pants I would choose either red or gray. Keep it simple, but classy.

I think wearing hose with a skirt is completely up to the person. If the skirt is an appropriate length and the shoes match, then go for bare legs. Of course if you have any tattoos that are visible I would definitely wear hose.

Well those sound pretty economical though, but if you have a couple of choices I have one site for you, I just got this set few weeks ago though, the quality is suberb ! It has 650 Thread counts but that's really enough to make me sleep so well. Also, they have like heaps of unique properties like anti-fungus or formadehyde free.

it is very similar to this on except i am not plus sized(only 13) and the sleeves are like 3/4 length. also the fabric isnt wool, it is more of a cotton/linen fabric. i was thinking it would be good for a winter/spring transition coat, or a fall/winter transition coat(only other coat i have is a northface). it was only 8$ (clearance) so i dont care if you think its ugly. What could i wear with it for bottoms? some examples of what i have are:
-skinny jeans(black, dark blue, dark green, gray, olive green/cargo pants)
-normal jeans (black, light wash, dark wash)
-flared mini skirts(black, blue/green/purple floral)
-shorts (olive green, dark wash, light wash, white)
-other (khakis, yoga pants)

I would most likely wear it to school so i would take it off, so i dont really care what i wear for a shirt, but i would like to look good with it on and off.

you could wear some cute dark skinny jeans and a black long sleeved shirt see through you can get them at rue 21 and put a black tank in under it with some black boots or flats and get a really cute bag maybe with that color in it like from relic or fossil hope i helped please go answer my question
