I have a 100% cotton skirt....?
aryan nahata

that I purchased, tore the tags off, threw them away...all before trying it on. I know..stupid!!
Anyways, its too big. How would I go about shrinking it down a size? Is it even possible?
Its very casual...has a drawstring waist
I am also worried about fading..its has a zip up hooded jacket that matches and it fits. I dont want that to shrink.
Its an A-line skirt...pulling it tight to fit with the drawstrings scrunches up the waist line and looks rediculous.

All I can suggest is washing it in hot water and then drying it at the hottest heat your dryer has.

If you have access to a sewing machine you could make it smaller by sewing one of the seams bigger.

I was wearing a pink cotton A line skirt, a white broderie anglaise top, white underwear, bare legs and some white low heel sandals. It was 18 years ago and we were both in our early twenties.

Yes I can! I was wearing dark blue bootleg jeans, blue denim wedge shoes, black vest top and a chiffon blouse. He was wearing jeans and a Ben Sherman shirt (which he still has but alas, no longer fits into!!) It was 1999. I was 26, he was 29 and we are now married

How do I brighten up a faded skirt...?
painted skirt

I have a yellow skirt made of 100% cotton with a lining made of 80% polyester and 20% cotton.
I've only worn it a couple times but it's totally faded and dull.
Now I'm not exactly what you would call a 'domestic goddess', so I was wondering if anyone out there could give me any info on how to make it bight again (if this can be done?) as I have no idea!
Thanks!
P.S. No sarcasm please :)

maybe try dying it with fabric dye. try to match the dye closest to the colour that it origionally was. or switch to a brightening detergent and see if that does the trick.

Where do I find an easy care skirt?
blue line skirt

I am looking for a couple of inexpensive (under $20) a-line or broomstick swishy style skirts made from stretch easy wear cotton with an elastic waist. I want the skirt to fall below my knees and I am really short (only about 5 feet tall.) I want them in plain wear with anything colors like tan or brown or even black. I have a 6 month old so they need to be machine wash and wear.
Thank you so much!

Target has them from time to time.
Pacsun has them for more expensive.
Charlotte Russe has them sometimes.
Ummm..
Forever21 for sure, Lulu's definitely, and Wet Seal(;

I am looking for a tie dye skirt. Green Dragon was on the tag. It wasnt cotton or gauze material?
pocket skirt

Has any one heard of this clothing line?I saw this lady at a water park and the skirt was so pretty. It was brown/ beige tye die. It looked like it could have been some sort of micro fiber material. She had the top of the skirt folded over and I think the tag read green dragon. Didnt have time to stop and chat- with four kids at the time!

I found a place called Green Dragon Imports that's based in Alaska

Spring is here and that always gets me in the mood to sew. To kick off our month of sewing on CRAFT, we're sharing one of our favorite projects from CRAFT: 06 by super crafty, super mom Andrea DeHart of craftybitch.com . There are 2 versions here for sewers of all levels. For you sewing pros, make the version with buttons and elastic, piping, and hip slit pockets.

How-To: Sew a Reversible Skirt By Andrea DeHart

The 70s had their fair share of fashion statements, including platform shoes, bell-bottoms, and caftans, to name a few. One of the more creative fashions that became popular was the infamous wrap skirt. It gave women all the style and comfort of an A-line skirt, with the added ability to expand and contract to
fit our ever-changing waistlines. Although the general pattern stays the same, this modern variation is reversible with a scoop pocket and bold ribbon waistband.
