What do think if i designed a fashionable skirt that would hug a bit above the waist?
Hand-gathered Tutu wrap-around Skirt in Black Cotton

so, it would flatten the lower tummy. it would be designed as a wrap layered skirt. But, I'm unsure about the fabric. It would have to a blend of a spandex material on the inside and durable cotton on the outside. It would button on the side with stylish buttons matching the fabric obviously.

sounds really cute.... high waisted skirts and pants are reallt in... so make it now, before the trend is over! =)

Which would you prefer to wear as part of your school uniform? Why?

The second one is definitely of Kilt design, but it's odd. the apron is smaller than a man's kilt, as on a guy, the apron would cover the front of the legs, almost making it to the sides of the legs.

Your skirt is half of that, and then it folds in the opposite direction than a man's kilt. It appears to go to the left, and men's kilts fold to the right, sitting on top up the lower apron--which most women would wonder why so much fabric up front... I suspect that they wanted to make that skirt more fancy, more for a girl, and didn't need to use all the extra fabric of the kilt.

The pleats are also pretty large on your skirt. A Kilt would be closer, or much less than 2 inches in block rows. Your skirt flares a bit more with the pleats.

We in the Kilt community would call your second choice a Kilt Skirt, because it's not a standard kilt, and made for girls.

As a girl, either would look okay. If I was a guy, I would prefer a man's kilt.

It's called a sarong, or beach wrap, wrap skirt, or wrap dress.
I would wear it at the beach, or just out to the mall or for a barbecue or whatever. Do you think it's cute? Would you wear something like this?

OK, remember that all of this is my opinion; doesn't necessarily make it right. If you disagree with me than that's your opinion, don't take other opinions to heart when it comes to the looks of clothing. What you like is what you like.

Anyways...

1) The blouse is really cute and I like it. I just wouldn't combine it with that yellow hat..

2) lol it looks French. Cute look, even though it isn't "in" or anything.

3) The blazer looks nice with that outfit - but short shorts looks really stupid, regular jeans tucked into the boots would be 10x better in my opinion.

4) I like that dress, but don't wear a hat with it.

What to wear to a second interview
iris wrap skirt

I interviewed at a rheumatology office for the position of records clerk (which I was way over qualified for) the other day. When I arrived, they offered me a different position as a research assistant. I wore a brown suit with very faint coral pin stripes, with 3/4 sleeves, and the pants were knee length with brown pumps, and my shirt underneath matched the color of the pinstripe. The woman I first interviewed with (I am assuming from HR) had on slacks, and a blue and white polka-dot collared shirt. I met with two of the four RN'S that I will be working under, and one had cotton pants, and a white tshirt, the other had on flip flops. They invited me back for a follow up, and the HR lady said..."not an interview really, just to meet with the rest of the team and have a conversation to see that you all mesh well."

What should I wear? I have a brown and cream pencil skirt with a cream faux wrap sweater, and the same brown pumps. It looks polished, and professional, but I am afraid that I should be wearing another suit, or a blazer, at least.

They always say, dress for the job you want.

  • Auction #27: Wrapped In The Moon at Interstitial Arts Foundation ...

I’m sad that we could never get pictures that truly does this skirt justice. It’s not only beautiful, but the material it’s made out of feels so damn GOOD. It’s a wrap skirt and can fit a variety of sizes because the final hole for the tie hasn’t been sewn in yet. The artist did that so whoever won could size it to their needs. She’ll even make the adjustment for you. If you’re a fan of wrap skirts, of purple, of beautiful clothes, or want to give someone a fabulous handmade and possibly unique gift, bid now!
