Cotton Twill Skirt

I'm used to wearing denim skirts but i'm wondering if cotton/twill skirts look just as good?

Do you think the skirt above is tacky or cute?

esp for brushed cotton- it picks it up so readily/holds on to it Already have the lint roller and wash separately with only other darks o by themselves-no much help Now trying ironing with light spray starch to keep the fibers flatter
as I said i do wash separately and do have alint roller. Biut dont say its impossible I dont even have a cat or dog!!
even if not using the dryer i should have said

Check the washer for lint before using it and same with the dryer. Clean out the lint traps after every load and get something to clean out the lint trap slot, I use a static duster to reach in there and pull out the lint that drops off the lint collector. Other than that, keep doing what you are doing. Make sure you use a new dryer sheet in those loads to help stop static cling which adds to the problem of lint.

I bought a skirt from ebay and found it extremely comfy, the washing instruction states that the fabric is brushed cotton. I tried to find more skirts made with brushed cotton on ebay and came across this 'moleskin' which is defined as 'a heavy-napped cotton twill fabric', so I wonder if it's just a fancier name for brushed cotton, or are they two different types of fabric but similar in texture? Please help, many thanks!

There are a number of fabrics called "moleskin", some of which are cotton and some not.

Traditional moleskin (as used in British outdoor trousers) is a closely woven heavy cotton and linen fustian with a napped surface, often created by brushing. Modern polyester "moleskin" is a brushed poly twill or a one sided velourish affair -- sometimes even knit velours are sold as "moleskin".

Brushed cotton is any cotton fabric from very lightweight to very heavyweight, that has been treated by brushing to produce a softer surface, usually just on one side. Cotton flannel, for instance, is a brushed cotton. So is brushed denim. I even have a piece of brushed batiste -- batiste is a lightweight plain weave cotton normally used for fine blouses, nightgowns and baby clothes.

So it's really best to inquire particulars of fabrics you want to consider for a project. Many of the traditional names of fabrics are mis-used all the time. I've been offered chambray (plain tabby weave) for denim (twill), pique and plisse for seersucker, an embossed organza for ottoman, etc. Sigh.

Well, The high school I plan on going to is private, so it has like a SUPER tight dress code, (I'll post it at the end of the question) and I was wondering where can I buy clothes and everything that fit such a...strict code of dressing.
Here It Is:
SHIRTS: Students may choose from two styles, either a button up polo shirt or a button up oxford type collared shirt. Short or long sleeves are allowed. While seated, student shirts must fall below the waistband of skirts, pants, etc. and must be loose fitting. Shirts must be buttoned up at all times to a point 4 inches from the top of the shirt collar. Any color or pattern, excluding camouflage, is allowed.
PANTS, SHORTS, SKIRTS, SKORTS: Only solid or plaid colored, no camouflage, cotton twill is allowed. Lighter colors must not be see-through. Pants, shorts, or skirts must be fitted at the waist, not below, and must fall between mid knee and the ankle. Excessively baggy or tight clothing is not allowed. Denim and simulated denim is not allowed.
SWEATSHIRTS, SWEATERS, JACKETS: Only solid sweatshirts, school sweatshirts, or collegiate sweatshirts may be worn. Turtleneck sweaters are allowed but not mock turtlenecks. No military jackets or camouflage allowed. All clothing underneath sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets must be within appearance code guidelines.

Guidelines to be observed by female students for liturgies:

A dress, skirt and collared shirt or dress slacks and a collared shirt. All dresses and skirts must follow our Appearance Code guidelines and reach mid-knee. All shirts must follow our Appearance Code.
Appropriate dress shoes or dark athletic shoes.

Oh and the OTHER rules are:Clothes must me modest and neat. Inappropriate words, graphics, symbols, decorations, or chains are not allowed on clothing. Backless shoes or very high heels above 1 inch are not acceptable.

Yes, and the reason I want to go there is because I have gone to private school all my life so all my friends are going there, I will get a better education, and I dont need to worry about budget cuts. :)

Yeah um okay privates schools give a much better education, you can still dress well at privates.

As for the question, I'm a fan of J-CREW. I go to private school as well and I get a lot of sweaters there that are super cute xD.
Also try Banana Republic, Gap, or Ralph Lauren Rugby.
