Disclaimer: I'm not very fashion literate, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I have a black and white floral print skirt. There's about a 50/50 mix of black and white in the skirt. It's a full skirt, almost a circle skirt, and comes just below my knees. The skirt is cotton (I think). It's feels kind of crisp.

Do I have to wear a black or a white top with this skirt? Or can I wear a different color? Do I have to stick with a crisp material? I want to dress the skirt up as much as I can.

You can wear black or white tops with the skirt, but, in my opinion, that's a bit boring. Black and white bottoms look great with skirts in bright colors. Jewel tones look great, red, pink, blue, etc. You can wear almost any color top with a black and white skirt, though you should avoid other neutral colors (i.e. navy, beige, brown, etc.)

i have a skirt really close to this:) it's so cute. i usually wear it with a simple black or white tank top and then i wear some cute black heels or flats. it depends on if you want to go dressy or casual with it.

I'm going to a 4:00pm outdoor wedding this weekend. Is it okay if I wear a medium length white cotton skirt with a flowery printed top? I don't know if it is okay to wear white, even if it is just a skirt

its summer time, your'e going to an outdoor wedding, wearing a white skirt is not going to offend anyone. as long as you keep it simple and dont out do the bride you'll be ok.

but I can't afford to buy new clothes right now. Can I compromise with my old clothes so that what I wear still looks classy? I have a lot of printed skirts, cotton tops and some blue jeans.I have a black skirt that I haven't worn yet which is the broomstick type skirt with recently came back in style. I don't know what top to wear with it. Can someone please help me?

cotton tops + jeans are what people wear everyday anyways... so no need to really worry about ur clothing.

however, are the jeans skinny jeans? cuz skinny jeans are popular right now. Also, plain white/black tops look classy with printed skirts. As to the skirt, since that skirt flares out, something tight would go well on top. If the skirt is printed, wear plain tops =)
