what kind of fabric goes with linen/cotton crinkled skirt, It's black thinner fabric, with a bit of a border on the bottom.

What do you want this other fabric to do? Is it to be underlining or lining? Accent on the skirt? Jacket? Top to go with the skirt? Something else entirely?

Can you please be a bit more specific?

How do I put permanent crinkles in a skirt that won't wash out?

I have a 100% cotton crinkle skirt which I achieve by twisting in a knot when in my closet. After wearing it for a few hours the crinkle starts to weaken. Is there a spray to permanently crinkle the fabric. I have had skirts that have been treated by the manufacturer and their crinkles never come out. What do they use? Thanks
Thanks for your suggestion. I did try that but what I am looking for is a product that will be permanent. Thanks

~~The only thing I can think of to try is spray starch. Spray it well prior to knotting it. I think it would hold until washed. Good luck!~~

How do I make a crinkle skirt? The type of material?

I love those crinkle skirts with the fun fabric, mostly for my girls, but do I just use any type of cotton and twist it or do In need special kinds? Thanks!

Crinkle material, they make it and sell it in most fabric stores.

you know those crinkle skirts, how do you wash them?

i bought one of those wrinkly material skirts. (cotton) but now its kinda lost its wrinkles. i threw the tag away long ago on how to wash it. i think it involves twisting and tying in a knot at some point, but how do you dry it?
i washed it last night and tied it in a knot, but its still super wet. won't it get all mildewy?

Tie it in a knot. I have pants like that

  • Encue Creations: Another SWAP

Stitchers Guild is doing another SWAP this year (Sewing With a Plan/Purpose) I've kind of laid off of contests for a while, but I do have a purpose for this one. Many of you know that I went to Uganda last year to teach women to sew. Well, we are putting our plans in the works for another venture this year. I am so excited to get to do this again, and another woman from my church is going to be going with me. In fact, she is sort of the reason I got back into sewing again - long story for another post. Anyway, here is what I'm planning for the swap One item must feature buttons or an unusual closure. Well, the shirt and the jacket both have buttons, but I haven't thought of anything that "featurable" for them. I may do bound buttonholes on the jacket. My other thought was to use a distinctive exposed zipper on the back of the dress, but that wouldn't really be appropriate for my trip. I am thinking though of using a Riri zipper and changing the front of the jacket to a zip closure.
