100 Cotton Skirt

I picked up a chair outside and then rust came out and got all over my skirt. Do you know how I can get It out?

The best way to get rust stains out of your clothing is to use a lemon, or table salt and cream of tarter.

Lemon

•To use a lemon, lay your garment on a flat surface on top of a towel.

•Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice onto the rust stain. (If you do not have a lemon, you can use bottled lemon juice, it works just as well.)

•Lay your garment in the sun and allow it to dry.

•Once your garment has dried, look to see if the rust stain has lifted. If it has not, repeat the process.
•If the rust stain is removed, launder your garment.

Salt and Cream of Tarter

•To use salt and cream of tarter, simply make a mixture using equal parts of both.

•Lay your garment on a flat surface on top of a towel.

•Spread your cream of tarter and salt mixture onto the rust stain.

•Place your garment in the sun and allow it to dry.

•If the rust stain has lifted, launder the shirt.

•If the rust stain has not lifted, repeat the process...

Will it be a dark mossy green color? a dark blue green color? or (the most wanted) navy blue?
Just want to make sure before I waste any time or money.

the skirt is a light to mustard color.

What if I dyed it mutiple times? would it be worth it?

if the yellow is really light then it probably won't show but if its a darker shade then it will look greenish

On the cleaning instructions it says "dry clean only", but I'm thinking since it's 100% cotton, it'll be ok to machine wash it. Should I dry clean or machine wash it?

Once ANYTHING is dry cleaned it cannot be washed. In COOL water and with mild detergent, you can machine wash on the delicate cycle or hand wash the skirt. Let it hang to dry and then you can press it.

I have never hand washed anything.

Would it be okay if I just washed it with the rest of the dark load in a lingerie bag?
Do i wash it in the sink?
We dont have washing powder we have the liquid stuff.
Can I wash it with the rest of the load?

I would turn it inside out, put it in a lingerie bag, use cold water and gentle cycle. Don't put it in the dryer, hang it or lay it flat to dry. (if you MUST use the dryer do it on gentle cycle for very little time)

Edit: You can wash it with the rest of the load, but I wouldn't put it in with things that have metal buttons or zippers (jeans and pants etc.) because they might cause damage.

Also make sure you have all the closures closed on the skirt.

It's a simple cotton skirt made of 100% cotton. I know that you can go buy skirts that have skinny, vertical wrinkles in them that last no matter how many times you wear or wash them. I was wonder if there is some sort of spray or soak that I can buy at a craft store or something to get this skirt to stay permanently wrinkled.

I keep mine stored in a crinkled up twist. Take the skirt in 2 hands in front of you and bring the 2 sides together. Repeat until you're left with a long column of fabric. Now hold the skirt by the folded up waistband and pretend you're drawing a giant circle on the floor with it. The skirt start to twist, Keep going until you have a tight twist, then fold the skirt over from top to bottom. The twist should double up on itself, and then you can twist it a little tighter. You should easily be able to fit it in a drawer.

If you store it like this, it keeps it looking crinkled. You can also use the same method to dry the skirt, but untwist and retwist so the skirt dries evenly after washing. This is the easiest method I've found.
