Have you heard anything about airing diapers out before using them?

I read something a while ago about letting diapers air out of the package so the fragrance goes away and the chlorine releases before you use them. I bought a package of dye free organic cotton diapers and they are super expensive. I dont like the fragrance b/c it always gives me a headache when I open the pack so I can imagine what it does to the baby.
So have you heard anything about airing them out first?
i've thought about cloth diapers but I dont think it would work for us, my hubby is deployed and I dont even have time to sleep as it is,lol
The 365 ones from Whole foods are the ones I tried but they are ALWAYS out of our size.
do you have any links for those cornbased one? Thanks

I have never heard this but I suppose it makes sense.
They make disposable diapers that are chlorine-free if you want to use a disposable w/o chlorine, I believe they are corn based (the ones I'm trying right now are anyway). Not sure they are all that much better but every little bit helps, I suppose. The price is equivalent to Huggies or Pampers.

ETA: I sure don't but I will look (when I get home) to see what they are called and try to find a link. I know they are called Natural (something?). I bought them at HEB in Texas. I will try to remember to edit this tomorrow.

.......... I wasn't able to find a direct link in English (here's their site though: http://www.absormex.com.mx/). They may be sold under different names but the manufacturer is Absormex (S.A., Monterrey, Mexico).

Here's a neat site that I did come across: http://www.disposablediaper.net/default. asp

Do you like the being of my story/book? What could I do to improve?

Chapter 1
Longing for you, I found my self under the moonless night sky. The walk to the lagoon didn’t take long. My mud stained New Balance’s covered the once familiar terrain easily. Feet sinking into the mud, and slipping on the moss the trees that rose to the night sky disappeared and opened into a sandy clearing. Squinting, I could make out the lagoon.
I took my shirt off; the perspiration had already dampened it. One by one my garments hit the sand until there was nothing left. Just skin. I waded in. One foot in front of the other I made my way out. The water was so calm against my racing heart. You should be here I thought, I paused and then continued on. When the water reached my neck, I floated onto my back and stared at the sky. There was no moon tonight. Just stars, each one held a promise, promises I intended to fill.

Chapter 2
Walking up the wooden steps, I was heaving my back pack bulging at every opening was slipping off my shoulders. One hand on the strap the other the railing, the last few steps were less of a chore. My door in sight, my pace quickened and upon turning over the floor mat was relieved to see my key still in place. My door swung open slowly revealing my dark loft. I turned on a light revealing my high ceilings. I dropped my back, now unzipping at the seams on the brown leather couch on my couch at the other end of the room and made my way over to the kitchen counter.
The flight wasn’t long yet I was still glad to be home. Tomorrow would be busy and I needed all of tonight to prepare. Green tea in hand I made my way to the bed room. Trading my worn blue jeans and red v neck for low cut black sweat pants and my favorites top-an organic cotton, faded yellow, with “love one, love all” across the front I made my way back to the couch.
I sat Indian style and the wooden floor began to chill my feet as relieved the bulging backpack of its belongings.

Thanks!

Does this make any freaking sense to you...?

My daughters preschool serves the kids Apple Jacks (on occasion) as a morning snack. I am sort of a health-freak-nut myself, so I always pack healthy lunches for her.

Today I put a Fiber One brand pop tart (a "healthy" pop tart) in her lunch, along with a yogurt, unsweetened apple sauce, organic fruit roll, and a banana.
But, the school would NOT allow her to eat the freaking pop tart!???!!!

What is the best course of action?

A. Send her to school tomorrow with 4 freaking pop tarts and nothing else
B. Pack her a can of Hershey's syrup, cotton candy, a carton of ice cream, a bottle of Jack, and a pack of Lucky Strikes
C. Calmly call the school's director and tell her to bite the big one
D. Pack a shotgun in her lunch
E. Crawl into a ball and cry yourself to sleep
F. All of the above
G. A, D, and Q
H. Q is not even an option. What the freak are you talking about?
M. Other ___ ?
Okay people... I just ate one of those freaking pop tarts... they taste EXACTLY the same as the 100% sugar ones.
*cries for all the abuse I have gotten over this*

I would stick a post-it on the Fiber One pop tart (gross) and write "This has healthy ingredients in it you fat cow. Give my daughter anymore sugar O's and you'll need the amount of fiber found in 100 of these things to get the Kellogg's box out of your rectum. Good day."

  • Earth's Best Organic Strained Spinach & Potatoes, 4 Ounce Jars ...

This is loaded with spinach, and this is what I wanted for my two 10 months. It is not as dense as I expected or wanted to appear because he has enough water to make it fluid. However, Earth's Best carrot is quite pleasant. It seems that their technology, which was not tasty enough with children are popular. He has brown rice, so do not think there is a strong incentive to rice cereal to add, though certainlycould.

Best Of Earth Brands all, I think it's natural darker green. I made this design and I'm happy for him. My kids love it. You are aged 10 months, they can not have appreciated a few months ago.

Ingredients of eco-water, organic spinach, organic potatoes, organic carrots, organic barley, brown rice.
