Okay I am looking for the following items, if you have links to them please send me the link!!

-recycled or tree free paper NOTEBOOK. I want to use a nice rustic looking notebook (blank pages) as a guestbook at my wedding!

-twig pencils/pens-- the ones that are made out of twigs...

-card box- you know the ones ppl put wedding cards in? One of those, but very eco chic looking... recycled content!

-BULK CFL lightbulbs... I need about 100 of them!!

ANY other hints and tips on little touched to make my wedding purchasing more co friendly and green, please do help. The CFLs are for the favors, notebook for guestbook, twig pencils. my dress is organic cotton, very few flowers at reception/ceremony (only bridal parties bouquets, no other flowers) and the flowers for those bouquets are from my organic garden!

Planning an eco-friendly wedding- any hints and tips?
Twiglet "Eartha" dress in Acacia

I am planning my wedding- the date is Sept 6, 2008.
I want it to be as ECO FRIENDLY and environmentally friendly as possible on a TIGHT budget. Our budget is $3500- we don't have to pay for the hall, tables, chairs, or minister. And our DJ is already paid for, too.
So, we have to do everything else, including caterer, for $3500- our caterer quoted us $1500, so that leaves us $2000 for everything else.
I want to use seeded invitations (plantable invites) and plantable seeded favors. Any links to websites with this sort of thing on a budget would be great!
Also looking for an organic cotton wedding dress for less than $600.
Looking for organic rice paper lanterns for decorations, and anything organic eco friendly to decorate with, give for favors, or wear...

Any hints, tips, and website links would be great!!

THANK YOU!

Eco friendly wedding tips?
Twiglet "Eartha" dress in Wrens

Hey all
I am planning a super eco friendly wedding, and am fast running out of ideas. here is what I am doing so far- please give me your input and more ideas!!

-local dj to cut down on gas used for his travel (same with the caterer and photograper)
-locally sourced food (from the caterer) and organic and free range when at all possible
-outdoor ceremony with acoustic music (no electricity needed)
-recyclable platesl, napkins, cutlery made from bamboo
-my gown is organic cotton
-the confetti being thrown is eco friendly and totally biodegradeable when it gets wet
-the confetti is being given out in seeded paper cones that grow flowers when you plant them
-no favors, a donation is being made to a local sick kids hospital instead (guests will be made aware of this by cards placed at their tables)
-invites are printed on "tree free" paper cards, postage being used is bought and a donation made to the world wildlife fund...
-flowers used are local and in season...

This a growing trend and personally, I love it!

1) Maybe for wedding gifts you could ask for people to buy 'Carbon Offset Points' so that your wedding can be a carbon neutral event.

2)You could use Soy or Beeswax candles for lighting, they have been shown to be less carbon producing that the standard petroleum candles.

3) If you wanted an alternative favor you could give a small seedling or seed packets as gifts.

4) Donate any left over food to a homeless shelter

5) Use local beer and wine producers for beverages, cutting down on transport costs and carbon emmissions.

Just a few suggestions.
Good luck with your earth friendly wedding!

Can you help me with our renewal of vow choices? ?
Twiglet "Eartha" dress in Wrens

We were married on St. Patrick's Day. Our wedding colors were purple, yellow and white. We were married outside at a park in a gazebo.. The ceremony went ok, but the reception was a complete disaster, and I didn't get a honeymoon.

No one from our families are invited, and no one knows the details. The only people who will be there are our pastor, maybe an elvis impersonator, photographer/videographer, me, husband, our offspring, and a family friend, will be taking care of said offspring for a couple of days.

We're very laid back in our style of dress. We prefer casual clothing. This will also be the style of clothing we will wear for the renewal of vows.

Location: On the beach (definite choice)

Here are our choices or ideas. I would like some input please.

What time of day?
1: Sunrise
2: Early morning
3: Afternoon
4: Sunset

Which shirt? (They will all be 100% organic cotton and button down).
1: White cotton button
2: Emerald Green
3: Purple
4: Hawaiian print shirt
5: Red
6: Shamrock print

Choice of Pants? (made of 100% organic cotton)
1: Khaki Pants
2: Navy Blue Jeans
3: Black jeans

Color of flip flops:
1: Khaki
2: Navy Blue
3: Black

Entertainment?
1: Dinner and Dancing on a harbor cruise
2: Dinner and Show at a Comedy Club. Going out dancing afterwards.
3: Dinner and a movie. Going out dancing afterwards.

Romantic Get-away trip?
1: 2 days and 1 night in a honenymoon suite with room service.
2: 2 days and 1night at a quiet bed and breakfast (all meals served)

Make-up
1: Sun kissed
2: Dramatic
3: Neutral
4: Sexy

MyHair: (It's natually wavy, and to my shoulders.. I'm letting it grow)
1: Wear it up
2: Wear half of it up
3: Wear it down with just some styling product.

Hands and Feet:
1: dramatic color
2: neutral color
3: french manicure
4: no polish go natural

I would welcome positive feedback.

Annabelle, you are a lovely bride. I see what you mean about the sunset. BREATHTAKING!!!!!

Ladies who have answered so far. You all are being so helpful. Thanks bunches!

This is cute. My husband & I just got married in July on the beach in Maui. It was awesome. Okay, here are my suggestions.

Time of day: Sunset. Have it start about 30 minutes before that & you'll end up with gorgeous pictures. You'll have some while still light with blue skies & some with those gorgeous colors after Sunset.

Clothes: White button down, Khaki pants, and black flip flops. I wouldn't do the shamrocks or Hawaiian thing. It's just a little too campy. Laid back is one thing but it should still be classy.

Entertainment: Dinner & dancing on a cruise would be the most romantic. I do love comedy shows though so I can't talk you out of that one.

Getaway: Honeymoon Suite. Our hotel room was one of our favorite things about our trip.

Makeup: Sun kissed if you do it during the day. If you go for Sunset you might want to play up your eyes a bit more because remember photos usually require more makeup.

Hair: I would say half up but I'm getting a picture of almost a fairy like style. Maybe down & wavy with just the front pulled back in 2 little braids with some flowers in the back. Sort of hippy-ish. Maybe I'm just getting that because you mentioned being casual & organic.

Hands & feet: French mani/pedi. It's classic.

Here's a pic of ours:

See what I mean about having some light & also some Sunset?
