How to print on organic cotton tees?
20100311 Fierce Hugs Organic Baby Clothes featured in Earnshaw's

I am a student artist wanting to print my own designs on organic cotton tees. I don't wanna do the whole screen printing bit and would prefer to do them myself. What kind of ink do I need to buy and how would you suggest for me to print? Also, will the ink be able to stay on this material?

1)Find out what kind of cloth paint screeners use.

2)Buy it, stensils, & some brushes at Joannes or Michaels.

3)Hand paint each one.

Where to find a brand of organic tees?

When I was at the airport, I saw a man wearing a tee that was made of organic cotton, and I knew that it was because it had a design on the back that looked like a Nutrition Information box that you would find on food. The box said what the tee was made of and the company name, but I forget the name. I wanted to purchase one. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sounds like TSDesigns, from NC. Their logo is the Nurtional box. They are a printer, so you may have to go through American Apparel to get one. Check out their site as a place to start.

Have you felt how soft organic cotton is compared to 100% cotton?

It's really nice and soft. Try on some organic tees that Sector 9 has made at your local surf or skateboard shop.

Yeah, I have a hoodie made out of organic cotton...by Watergurl or something.

Are there any other online t-shirt printing sites like Cafe Press?
Elephan Organic Tee

I don't mind Cafe Press, but the quality is not fantastic and you're limited to where on the shirt (or any other product) you can print. Are there any other sites out there that are like Cafe Press, but are less limiting?
I wouldn't mind finding one that does organic cotton tees too.
Thanks!
I guess I should have specified that I'd like sites that offer online store options (like Cafe Press). You create an account and then you have your store front and people just order the merchandise from there.

try http://www.zazzle.com/create they have organic tees and have better quality but printing areas I guess depends on design. I don't u can do sleeved but front and back is pretty standard for most POD sites.

T-shirts are a wardrobe staple, so it makes sense to buy environmentally responsible ones. Recycleatee makes men's and women's organic-cotton tees printed with graphics submitted by artists from around the world. Some of the designs are nature-inspired, a few have eco-messages (like "Don't Talk Trash"), and others just feature cool designs like this -inspired one . All are made in the U.S. and are printed with water-based inks. When you're done with your shirt, you can send it back to Recycleatee (in any condition!), and the company will recycle the shirt and give you 25 percent off your next purchase. Recycleatree is also a member of 1% For the Planet , so they donate 1% of their sales to environmental nonprofits. The shirts cost around $29.
