I want organic cotton or hemp jeans/pants with no spandex or stretchy anything in them. Do you know where I can find them?
Go to www.naturalnirvana.com. They have a lot of hemp items. Everything on the site is either organic or vegan. They have tons of stuff not just clothes.
MENS ORGANIC COTTON/SPANDEX JERSEY LONG SLEEVE CREW - Self fabric neck band and cuffs - Striped contrast tape neck binding - Contrast coverstitch ...
"Anybody know where can I find ORGANIC PANTS (cotton or/and hemp or/and linden or/and natural fiber) But in real NAVY COLOR...They have to be fully natural fiber because I do react to all synthetic fabric...include spandex in small quantity. it's for a Uniform so I can't change the color... Also, it could be great if the price is under 70 $ Canadian dollars. Been searching for all ever on the web ! Thanks to anyone for any help."
MEC carries quite a few organic cotton items (both their own brand and others, such as prana and blurr). here is one (its a women's version but also come in men's, called journeyman pants):

a lot of companies are using organic cotton now - patagonia, prana, blurr, etc. so check them out.
hope this helps.

I am in Canada and have only found American suppliers and the fees are outrageous. I am specifically looking for jersey knits, blended with cotton and maybe spandex. Also, if you know any other places to buy other natural fibres, like bamboo, or organic cotton I'd be interested in that as well.

I got a shirt that i really like and it fits perfectly!!! BUT I dont know if it will shrink because its made of materials im not familiar with...
Its 60% Bamboo 35% Organic Cotton 5% Spandex.
I would think it shrink a little because of the cotton but its "organic" so i dunno if that makes a difference.
Ill take all the help i can get. because im worried that if it shrinks i wont wanna wear it.
It will shrink SLIGHTLY if you wash it with warm/hot water or dry it with heat. If you want to keep it the same size wash in cold water and hang dry it.
The fact that the cotton is organic doesn't matter. Cotton is cotton and it's properties are still the same.
I'm doing a report for school and I was wondering ... Are organic and "green" fabrics cheaper then fabrics like spandex or cotton?
Hmmmm. Generally, no. Now, Wal-Mart, as an enormous buyer of clothing, is selling organic or "transitional" cotton (the fields are going to be organic in the future but aren't ready to be certified organic yet), so the ready-made garments are cheap because Wal-Mart prices them cheaply. They buy in bulk and force providers to offer crazy-low prices (or they go to another provider.)
Bamboo, which is generally "green," doesn't seem to be a lot more expensive than, say, cotton, but you only really see it in socks and t-shirts, things like that.
Cotton is usually more expensive when grown organically because organic fertilizers can be more expensive and the yield isn't as high without those pumped-up fertilizers. Also, you'll lose some yield due to insect damage if you don't use hardcore pesticides. So that's why cotton growers are reluctant to shift to organic because the market is still a little slow for more expensive (but organic) cotton.
Hemp probably would be cheap if grown on a large scale, but right now, it isn't. There are also some legal issues with growing hemp, even if it's certified 100% THC-free. So many folks don't bother with it.
Plus, it's scritchy-scratchy and that's not always appealing.
Spandex (usually a mix of fibers including rubber or latex) isn't all that unnatural, but it's not as organic as it could be. Rubber is probably organic (it comes from tropical trees and is gathered by slashing the tree trunks and letting the sap collect) but polyester or other fibers in the finished product aren't organic.
There's also a fabric called "peace silk", which allows silk worms to live out their life cycle before the silk is harvested, unlike regular silk, where the caterpillars are steamed out of their cocoons. Which makes it more expensive, I would assume.
So on a large scale, with proper farming practices (organic isn't easy when you're used to using chemicals), organic stuff and green fabrics wouldn't be a whole lot more expensive than any non-organic ones. The extra cost to get something that isn't as dangerous to the environment is worth it, but, yeah, there is an extra cost in many cases.
