A vegan alternative to down-, silk- or wool-filled comforters?

And I want to stay away from chemical compounds as well. I want something equally good for the environment. Duvet covers and sheets, I found a wide selection of organic cotton and organic hemp, but the actual comforter that goes inside the duvet cover? I seem to have hit a brick wall... Any advice?
P.-S.: Time and talent constraints mean building my own comforter is out of the question. Thank you for the suggestion. I am looking to buy.

So you want a Vegan comforter (i.e. no down, no wool, no silk) that doesn't involve a chemical process (like Polyester).

If you're going to get hemp sheets, why not get an organic hemp comforter also? They cost a bunch, but they'll last you forever (and like a good wine, they get finer and better with time :-] If you live in a mild climate, you can alway get an organic cotton comforter.

They also carry organic cotton comforters for a wee bit less (barely).

I have to disagree with corn (Ingeo fibers). Sure, it's a Vegan alternative, but what about the fact that cultivating corn for textile (or for any purpose other than food) contributes to the global food crisis? What about the workers, are they paid a fair wage to harvest the corn used in the massively marketed Ingeo fiber? My guess is no.

To me, as a Vegan, caring for all living things also includes humankind. Organic, fair-trade hemp (or cotton) should be an integral part of the Vegan way of life. And you know what? Hemp can definitely be hip :-]

There are very cool wall stickers that come in those hot colors. They are removable and can be re-arranged when you feel like it. See the sources below.
Also look at PBTeen site (link below) for hot pinks, orange, etc...pillows and a lot of teen room decor stuff like rugs lamps.

Another option if you act fast, is the dorm stuff that WalMart has had for Back to School. they had great hot pink , orange and also yellow desk chairs for only $20...I got two and love them. They raise and lower. I do not think they are on the W-M website, just in stores and limited quantity.

An odd thing is that in the stores all this dorm stuff was not grouped totally together but on end caps in various places. I would see things in their ads and look forever to find it in the stores. (The employees were very helpful tho)

When shopping for new bedding, particularly cotton comforter sets and duvet covers, it is important to consider both the quality and the price of your options to determine their value.  While bedding comes in a variety of quality levels and price ranges, these things do not always equate to the same things as value.  In many cases, more expensive bedding is of better quality but, in some cases, the price of the bedding option is much higher than it’s actual value in terms of longevity and quality.  To help you find the best value in high quality bedding for your home, let’s take a few moments to consider the factors involved in choosing luxury comforters sets that will stand the test of time.
