Organic Cotton Baby

I really want to use organic materials around our baby, but I'm a huge fan of bold colors. The two don't seem to mix. Has anyone found a place to buy a crib bedding set (sheets, bumpers, etc.) that have bold colors?

I used to shop bedding for my children from character comforts site. They have many good bedding and i think you can also find bedding of your choice from their site.

Organic cotton is kinder to the environment, workers who grow the cotton and most importantly your baby because of it's softness and purity.

The chemicals used to produce and finish conventional clothing are toxic and some of them are carcinogenic (causes cancer). Cotton is the 2nd most toxic crop in the US because all of the pesticides required to preserve it for mass consumption. 100% organic cotton is produced without any of these toxic chemicals.

How much of a priority they are for your baby depends on your budget and how tolerant you feel your baby is to the chemicals in the clothing and apparel. If you have a thriving baby, and a limited budget, you might have a bigger impact starting with organic baby food or skin care as all of that goes right in to your baby's developing system. On the other hand, if your baby was premature and has a lot allergies, eczema, and is sick a lot of the time, she or he might benefit from not absorbing and breathing in toxins from his clothes and bedding 24/7.

Hi We have recently invested in organic mattresses for our two babies as we believe that the chemicals in normal mattresses maybe harmful to our babies. However, do we now need to buy organic cotton sheets or would the chemicals and pesticides in these sheets be washed out in a normal washing machine?

I would stick with the organic.

I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. I've looked on Craigslist and poked around ebay but haven't had much luck. There's a store called Peapod's, but all the organic cotton/hemp/bamboo-woven baby clothes are SUPER expensive. I don't want to spend that much when my 3-month-old girl is just going to end up spitting up or pooping on some/most of these garments. At the same time, though, I'd like to "go green" with my baby. So recommendations?? Please and thanks!
