Where can I find colorful organic cotton baby bedding sets?

I really want to use organic materials around our baby, but I'm a huge fan of bold colors. The two don't seem to mix. Has anyone found a place to buy a crib bedding set (sheets, bumpers, etc.) that have bold colors?

I used to shop bedding for my children from character comforts site. They have many good bedding and i think you can also find bedding of your choice from their site.

I'm looking for some gently used hemp or organic cotton baby clothes, any colors. Any suggestions where?

I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. I've looked on Craigslist and poked around ebay but haven't had much luck. There's a store called Peapod's, but all the organic cotton/hemp/bamboo-woven baby clothes are SUPER expensive. I don't want to spend that much when my 3-month-old girl is just going to end up spitting up or pooping on some/most of these garments. At the same time, though, I'd like to "go green" with my baby. So recommendations?? Please and thanks!

I thought eBay had a descent amount of organic cotton baby clothes. This site helps you find organic cotton baby clothes ending soon on eBay. Easy to hop on and bid on items ending soon with no bids. You can get some good deals this way. http://www.organic-cotton-baby-clothes.c om/

Where to open a baby registry for organic products?

We are expecting a child in December 2009 (we don't know gender yet) and have started a registry at Babies-R-Us, but cannot find many products: wool/alpaca blankets, cotton plush blankets, modern looking cotton nursery bedding, organic toys, foam mattress, light-weight crib in cherry color (there is one in maple color at Babies-R-Us though) ...
Does it mean that we should open a registry at another store instead? What other national store chain would be good for a variety of organic/quality baby products?

Do you have a buy buy baby near you? They have a bit higher end things, and many organic products.

Where can I find organic baby crib bedding with cute prints?

Many organic bedding sets have no print on them, which is a little too boring for me. I think Coyuchi baby prints are ugly. The Pixel Piece print is cute but it is too bright. I want a soft color. The closest I have found is the Nature's Purest (Hug Me) Collection found in Babies R Us website. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp ?productId=2671050 Maybe someone can check the link and get an idea of what I want. And if I see a fitted crib sheet with a nice print, they usually don't have a whole crib or nursery set (If at the least, I would like to have the bumber, fitted sheet, and blanket all matching). The Nature's Purest collection is fine, but I'm the type of person that likes to have options, not have to choose by default. I commend the "organic" companies for trying at least, but it's not that hard. I can do with out the pink and blues. Actually I prefer the natural colors cotton makes; soft browns, yellows, and greens. Hopefully someone has an answer. Thanks

if you cant find full sets you like, maybe you could do something like choose a color scheme... I think the soft browns and greens make a great combination... and just have lots of solids that coordinate in your color palette... then just decorate the room with other things to make it more colorful or if you like monkeys or bears...

I had a conversation the other day with 8 year old K trying to explain to her what organic cotton is. Of course, it was a bit more perplexing to her because she couldn’t quite grasp the idea of cotton as being a plant and not just what clothes are made out of. It was a rushed conversation, and I didn’t do a great job explaining it, so I left her pretty confused.

Pure Beginnings sells 100% organic items for babies and has some great facts on their site about conventional vs. organic cotton. I think I’ll print it out and go through this with K, along with a photo I found online of a cotton plant. Here’s a snippet in case you didn’t know:

The second most pesticide-laden crop in the world after coffee, cotton represents only 2.4 percent of all cultivated land, but utilizes 25 percent of the planet?s pesticide and 10 percent of its herbicide production . . . Approximately 1/3 pound of chemicals is used to grow cotton for just one t-shirt. These chemicals cause harm to wildlife, the environment and humans.
