good for you buying organic! Mothering magazine has a ton of good ads in the back of their mag. here is a link out of it below....

I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. I've looked on Craigslist and poked around ebay but haven't had much luck. There's a store called Peapod's, but all the organic cotton/hemp/bamboo-woven baby clothes are SUPER expensive. I don't want to spend that much when my 3-month-old girl is just going to end up spitting up or pooping on some/most of these garments. At the same time, though, I'd like to "go green" with my baby. So recommendations?? Please and thanks!
I thought eBay had a descent amount of organic cotton baby clothes. This site helps you find organic cotton baby clothes ending soon on eBay. Easy to hop on and bid on items ending soon with no bids. You can get some good deals this way. http://www.organic-cotton-baby-clothes.c om/

i want to do some shopping while my husband is at his conference. i will have my baby in a stroller. i am not interested in something like a mall with stores that i already have in houston. i would love to know about some places where i can get fun, unique baby toys or funky organic cotton baby clothes!! any suggestions?
The closest area would be the 2nd Street District (on 2nd, between Colorado and San Antonio). Not sure if they have any stores with baby items, but it's definitely the largest/best shopping downtown.

If you are willing to take a bus (or a Dillo - a free trolley that follows tourist routes (Orange Route goes to South Congress, I believe)), you'd probably enjoy shopping on South Congress (lots more shops, with a wider variety).

Hi
I'm looking for organic products intended for baby that I can turn into a business.
These include shampoos, soaps, organically grown cotton based clothing etc.
How would I find out where a manufacturer or wholesaler is who could supply me with these, UK or overseas?
Many thanks
Steve

4th time posting since I got zero replies (except for one rude person). I've posted this in Do it Yourself, Green Living and under Laundry. I hope this is the right category this time...
Is it possible to dye woven organic cotton with chlorophyll and zero chemicals? How to do it to obtain a pastel green or mint green shade? (It's the shade typically used in baby clothes & bedding in color green)
I've spilled liquid chlorophyll on my counters and clothes before and the stains are premanent. I'm not worried about "colorfastnest" I know it will last. I'm googling and getting nowhere.
I have chemical allergies and was looking for colorgrown organic cotton, in a woven fabric, color mint green or even dusty seafoam green but I can't find that and why I want to try to do it myself. (If you have links to that, please feel free to share!) :o)
I just want a recipe, a how to on how to do it, basically. Please do NOT suggest so called "low-impact dyes", they are synthetic and highly toxic.
Links much appreciated!
Thanks.
What you probably want is Fox fiber's cottons, which are shades of green, brown and pinkish right from the boll.

Unfortunately, yardage is difficult to come by.
Chlorophyll is pretty gummy and greasy, and not a good dye. It will also go brown in time, especially with light exposure. I've watched the action spectrum shift in the UV range in a spectrometer.
Have you tried green tea?

Newborn Baby Clothing: Comfort and Function
Clothing a newborn child is like putting the star on the Christmas Tree, or packaging that expensive, irreplaceable piece of art you have- you have to take care and you’ll be a bit scared to hurt the baby at first. While babies are stronger than they seem, it still makes a lot of sense to get the most comfortable, easiest-to-use clothes you can find. Another important criteria besides comfort and function includes getting non-toxic items, such as clothes made with organic cotton and using eco-friendly laundry detergent for washing baby’s clothes. Articles of clothing that baby most often needs includes onesies, swaddle blankets, beanies if temperatures get cold (a lot of heat is lost through the head), as well as t-shirts, pants, and socks. Of these items, the most important and most often used is definitely the onesie. Babies need their diapers changed often to avoid diaper rash and irritation. Onesies simplify this process because you don’t need to remove the pants to change the diaper, then have to put the pants back on. Because they open from the bottom, the diaper changing process is greatly simplified and this means less work for the caretaker as well as baby. It is also easy to put on additional layers over the onesie, and keeping this piece of clothing on avoids exposing naked skin to cold air. It’s a very useful piece of clothing. For more comfort and ease of use, <a target=”_new” rel=”nofollow” href=”http://www.hubpages.com/hub/Newborn-Baby-Clothes-Guide”>kimono-style undershirts</a> are great. They don’t have a bottom piece like the onesie but you can lay baby directly on top and then fasten closed- no need to slip baby’s head through a hole to get the clothing on. This simple and comfortable shirt could be considered a necessity, but is relatively new on the market. You should know that it works great and ranks right up there with the onesie in terms of <a target=”_new” rel=”nofollow” href=”http://www.hubpages.com/hub/Newborn-Baby-Clothes-Guide”>baby-appropriate clothing</a>.
