Cotton shrinks, period.
#1 rule of laundering...read the washing/care instructions. It is a federal law that every garment sold in the US has to have washing instructions sewn in or applied on the garment. (tagless garments have them screened on) They are there for a reason.

I am in Canada and have only found American suppliers and the fees are outrageous. I am specifically looking for jersey knits, blended with cotton and maybe spandex. Also, if you know any other places to buy other natural fibres, like bamboo, or organic cotton I'd be interested in that as well.

Finding the perfect pair of jeans is a never-ending journey. There is the boot cut, the bellbottom flare, and the risky skinny jean, except one pair is not enough. Although Levi Strauss would be delighted to learn that having a closet full of jeans is now an American standard; his cotton based creation continues to stealthy impact our environment. Blue jeans make us feel comfortable and fashionable, but until the demand for conventional cotton is replaced with organic cotton; these ample amounts of pesticides, fertilizers, and water used to manufacture cotton will escalate. Reducing these obstacles is possible, but only when we adapt to the world’s pant style and not our own.
sounds good, really informative!!
maybe change the last sentence to end the paragraph with a bigger bang? just an idea!!

'Green collar' native offers trunk show at local store
The inspiration for former resident Randy Ashton’s new business venture, Collared Greens, came to him during the long, quiet stretches spent on assignment photographing the North Atlantic Salmon Rivers along the Eastern seaboard.
The Idaho-based Collared Greens manufactures and sells dress-casual apparel for “trend-setting and fashionable folks who would rather have their clothing produced and marketed in an environmentally-sensitive manner,” Ashton, 31, told the Advertiser last week.
The company’s woven and printed silk ties are hand-cut and sewn in New York City. Its polo shirts, which have the original green twill tape along the inside of the collars, are made with organic cotton. All packaging is made from recycled paper.
Native American Village @ Blogspot: Some truths to ponder this ...
Seventy-five percent of the food and fiber we grow today was discovered and cultivated by the native farmers and hunter-gatherers of North, Central and South America.
These indigenous varieties include corn, beans, peanuts, cotton, potatoes, tomatoes, chili peppers, avocados, blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, squashes, black walnuts, pecans, chocolate, tobacco, rubber, sunflowers, and medicinal herbs and plants. Today, every one of these varieties are threatened by Monsanto, Big Pharma, and industrial agriculture, among others, who are privatizing and patenting seeds and the gene pool, eroding biodiversity, degrading the soil and water, contaminating the food chain, and destabilizing the climate.
