Can you wear a white plain cotton tee under a maxi dress?
White Breeze Crochet Summer Dress

I am modest and don't like wearing a very thin strap nor something too low. Are there any cap sleeve maxi dresses? They are so comfortable but everyone one I have seen is either a halter or sleeveless.

I haven't seen any cap sleeve ones, but you can definitely wear a t-shirt under them. A lot of the girls at my church wear them with a white t-shirt, and it's very cute!

Does anyone know where I could find white thin shorts for my 3 yr old to wear under her dresses?
(Untitled)

I would also like some black ones, too. I am looking for a thin material so it wont look bulky under the dress or skirt, either thin like cotton pj shorts or maybe spandex. I have tried doing searches but havent found anything

I disagree with your first answer. It wont look bad. My daughter always wears shorts under her dresses. If you buy just the ones with the cover ups or skorts your choices are too limited.
It may be hard to find them this time of year, though. I usually get them at wal mart or target or KMart where they have little 2 piece outfits, the thin little cotton elastic waist ones (usually has a tank top with it) You can't even see it under the dress or skirt, (unless of course they are playing) they aren't bulky are anything.
Try the places I mentioned. They may have some summer things on clearance. maybe try PJ's but they are usually colored or patterned. hope you find something!

Removing paint stain from Cotton dress Shirt?
(Untitled)

I have a blue cotton button up dress shirt, which has a light streak of paint on the back that I would really like to remove. Particularly, since it happened on the first day I wore the shirt.

It's a light, white paint, thin streak. Any suggestions, especially ones that spring from similar experience, would be appreciated tremendously. thanks

Depending on the paint base you might try getting a small can of paint thinner from your local hardware store.
Test the thinner on a hidden spot of the shirt to make sure it doesn't remove any of the color in the shirt itself. If it does, stop.
Put several folded white paper towels under the spot. Put a small amount of the thinner on a cotton ball and lightly dab the spot. If it seems to be working, go over the entire spot. As soon as you have removed the entire spot, completley dab out as much of the thinner as possible and apply a small amount of detergent. Rub carefully and rinse thoroughly.
Clean entire shirt as usual.

How do you get blood out of a cotton dress shirt?

I swear i'm not a murderer. I had a cut on my finger that rubbed against my brand new shirt, It really ruined my day. Any suggestions? It's mainly white with thin/light grey and black stripes

If you just did it, then run it under cold water so it does not set.
Then before you wash it, get the SpraynWash Dual Power and pretreat the stain, then wash your shirt in cold water. You may have to do this more than once but don't put it in the dryer until you get out the stain otherwise it will be set for life. Hope that helps!

Pretty But Too Translucent White Dress...?

I have a white sleeveless knee length tunic dress which has a flattering & comfortable design.

The only problem that is stopping me from wearing it out of my house is that it is made out of pretty thin cotton. It's like if I go under sunlight with that dress I might as well walk around in my undies in public... It's fabric is not light sort of a standard cotton t-shirt material. I believe it's its color (white) that makes it translucent?

My tailor actually advised me to get wear a pair of "underwear skirt" for the bottom & a white tube top for modesty. As it would make the dress' cut less flattering if she sews a lining (more poofy).

Anyone with any other advices? Or just want to agree with my tailor?

I have a similar experience with a white skirt that I bought. It's really pretty and very flattering. It has no inner lining, so it's quite see through in light. It's not possible to wear it with a slip (I had never owned one so I bought one with the skirt) as it loses its shape. I agree that white is really attractive to wear, but quite often the colour lends to the garment being a bit see through in sunlight. Still I love wearing white.

A friend has a really thin blue dress that she wears with a similar tone bra and thong, and I must admit she looks stunning in it. She suggested that I wear a skin tone thong. I tried it and it works wonders, the skirt drapes perfectly and there are no dreaded panty lines at all. I will do this with all my white clothes from now on, and will definately go on buying white clothes without fear of my underwear being seen.

Give it a try. In these times almost nobody wears a slip anyway, and if you are confident you should not feel that you have to either. I wore my skirt with a bright red short top and flat sandles. Everyone that saw me complimented me.

T took me a long time to develop a fashion sense. As a kid, I’d wear most anything, easily guided by what my friends wore or what the stores put on display. Even in college, I suffered from sartorial multiple personality disorder, buying most anything that fit me since having pants long enough to cover my ankles was one of my only real requirements. Sometimes I felt like throwing on a power suit with a t-shirt underneath. Other times, I’d wear pearls and long skirts with a woven basket for a handbag. From rocker chick to flower child, I wore it all without any great preference, trying on clothes like new personalities.

In fact, choosing a favorite of anything – books, restaurants, songs, you name it—has always been practically impossible for me. To the point that I never thought I’d really have an individual sense of style.
