We need 6 dresses knee length or preferably floor length that we can sash with a yellow sash. We already have the sashes so if it comes with one we need to be able to remove it. They must have straps or straps must be easy to add. They must be no more than $150. The colors are in royals and are Orange, Salmon-Pink/Coral-Pink, Green, Violet, and Blue the brides dress in White with a Yellow sash so we are going to sash all the dresses with a matching yellow sash. Butterflies are the theme for the wedding. We would prefer no prints but a silk dipdyed ombre would be fun as tiedye is the secondary theme. (Don't ask, it's what she wants, lol). No cotton candy nightmares please. Thank you for your help.
If you can find 2 dresses that come in 3 colors that works too.
There are 3 smaller busted girls whose colors are Emerald Green, Royal Blue, and Orange. And 3 large busted girls whose colors are Royal Violet/Purple, Salmon Pink/Coral, and Wine Red or a Deep Red Color.

My dress is all over ivory lace and strapless. The bridesmaid dresses I like are red strapless empire waist dresses in a jersey/cotton material. My maid of honor loves it, but will it clash too much with my dress? Does it even matter if it does? I am going to be wearing a red sash to tie in the look to the dresses. What do you think?
I think if you, as the bride, like it, and more importantly, if the bridesmaids like it, then I would go for it. An empire waist is a very flattering look on just about everyone, and the material really doesn't matter much. If you like it, then it will work.
Best of luck to you!
I want to make a empire waist dress, and I need to choose a type of fabric. the dress is classy and sophisticated. I would like to make this project as easy as possible with the best results. So what type of fabric should I use? Silk, satin, cotton?!
satin. it would be the most elegant and alot easier than silk. and cotton would be kind of boring.
good luck !

A friend of mine is getting married to her boyfriend of 8 years. They were going to have a formal wedding, but "The moms" were making plans they did NOT want. Now, they are going on a "weddingmoon" with the kids. My friend is a seamstress. For their special day, she made her own dress. It's a 100% cotton, empire waist, ankle length dress, with blue ribbon around the bust. She has made the same style of dresses for her daughters (same color as the ribbon). She has also made matching shirts for her fiancee and son. She's all ready made her bouquets, boutineers, and 3 hair pieces. She showed me the dresses, and I thought they were cute. They aren't going to wear any shoes because the ceremony is going to be on the beach. "The moms" think their clothing is cheap and tacky. The clothing she made, is VERY well made. What do you think of their choices?
Both sets of parents have been after these two to marry for years. They didn't want to. Both of them are college educated, have their own home etc. The parents were going to pay for the wedding. My friends wanted small and intimate. "The moms" wanted elaborate, fancy, and glamorous. My friends are NOT the partying type. For the exception of not being married, when they had the kids. They are the typical all american family. But you are all right, it's THEIR day. "the moms" are bossy, and OTT control freaks. I don't like either woman. TG I don't have either one of them for a parent.
I actually called my own mom about this situation. She told me to tell moms of grown children seem to think that they still need their parental guidance. Even she has admitted that I've had to put her in her place when it comes to me. I called my friends and spoke with both of them. They are going to have a sit-down with "the moms" and nicely explain how they will and will NOT be treated. I hope it all goes well.
I think its great! Sounds like a great way to make their wedding day memories even more personal and special.
And the dresses themselves sound very beautiful!
and the shirts sound very hansom!
As for the lack of shoes is a great idea. It would be no fun trying to walk on/in sand. And bare feet are so natural and beautiful. ~~~Good luck with the mom troubles
My good friend is looking for a long white dress (linen or cotton preferably) that would be from a very high-end designer but not made as a wedding dress. Ideally it would have an empire waist and straps. She wants to wear this to VERY casual beach wedding reception. She was thinking on the level Prada or another fine designer.
Any suggestions on designers that she could order something like this? Are there designers she may not think of that would be worth checking out.
This for her to wear to her wedding reception
please don't wear white to a wedding. No matter how simple the dress you just take away from the bride.

Besides the bride, mother of the bride has a special role in the event and her outfit should offer more than a proper fit. You know that choosing the mother of the bride dresses is a little challenging thing. Moms' body is different. Some a little fat, some taller, some petite, you should choose different type of dresses for mother of the bride according to different stature. Petite mother of the bride dress is designed for women who are between 4'11' and roughly 5'4' tall. The formal definition of petite mother of bride dress suggests that the term relates to women who are slim and small in stature.
