I am looking for a dress to wear to a friends wedding on the weekend b4 st patties day. I have wanted a green eyelet cotton dress for it but I am plus size and having a really hard time finding one. It doesnt have to be green but if it is I would be so so so happy. It can be any color except white. Thanks so much.

I am looking for a dress for a very casual outdoor wedding this summer.
While I am in the process of losing weight, I will still need something "plus-sized" for this occasion.
I'm looking for a dress that is long or short, flowy, soft, using light fabrics [since it'll be hot and I'll be outside the entire day] and made up of loud prints or bright colors.
THIS is exactly the type of dress I'm looking for:

A little less tacky though [and expensive!].
I've tried torrid, macy*s, jcpenney, old navy, sydney's closet, igigi.... most of these sites offer plain cotton dresses and I'm not looking for that.
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I am having my dress made but I am plus size(size 22) and I dont know what the best material would be.
I dont want a stiff dress like most of them are and I dont wand silk or satin because it shows every roll and lump.
I was told taffeta, cotton and organza might be good.
Anyone have any advice??
Like most of these designs:

The type of material will depend on the style of your dress..
Silk can be stiff (dupioni) or soft.
Satin is a weave, not a fiber, and can be made of silk or polyester. It can be stiff or soft.
Organza is stiff. Taffeta is kind of crisp.
A properly fitting dress, no matter what the material, will not show every lump and bump.
If you got this information from your seamstress, keep looking for another seamstress.
All that being said:
Soft fabrics that aren't shiny work well for most people. Satin backed crepe is nice. I like to use both sides for contrast: crepe for most of the dress, and the satin side for trim and embellishment.
Silk, if you can find a soft, non-shiny one is nice. Silk broadcloth would be one. Real silk will be expensive.
Chiffon is soft and matte and sort of floaty. It is very sheer, though, and will need something opaque under it for lining.
Georgette is soft and matte and not floaty. It is sheer, too, and needs something for a lining. Georgette is made from a crinkly fiber instead of a smooth one, so it may have a sort of stretchy feeling, Not like a knit, but different from chiffon.
A soft, light cotton or linen-like material will make a lovely, informal wedding dress.
You can go to a fabric store and walk through the special occasion section to see what fabrics appeal to you. The instructions on the back of the pattern envelopes of commercial patterns will suggest what type of fabrics would work best.
I don't know what your seamstress situation is. In general, a one-off dress made by a professional will cost two to five times what a dress off the rack will cost. If you have a hard time getting things to fit in general, though, it may actually work to your advantage to have something custom made rather than pay for a dress + alterations.
Some of my friends wear the coolest clothes, and I can't figure out where they get them. I've sent out emails, but it'll be awhile before I get anything back. If anyone has links to share, I'd be very thankful!
Some of the stuff I would really like to get are shirts and/or dresses that look like sarong material. Flowy cotton, with celtic symbols, dragons, the Green Man, etc.
Thanks so much!
I dont know but torrid.com has some pretty clothes

I have some of the square sarong tops and they are great. For cool clothing up to a size 5X, try Holyclothing.com. They also have an eBay store. Their dresses and tops are rayon, some velvet, Very cool, very Medieval/Celtic looking and not too pricey! Torrid's plus sizing is "Junior" plus, not the same as Womens sizing (it runs smaller).

How much should I give for these used maternity clothes? Please help!?
Ok here ’s what i want out of the clothes she sent me-
6 dress shirts. Most are from motherhood or targer (lizlang)
8 soft cotton "T" shirts. Some are old navy, liz lang, and mother hood. Some quarter sleeves
2 khaki pants
1 jean capri
2 levis maternity jeans
All are pretty nice and newer looking. We are both too afraid of screwing the other over and at a stand still.
I was thinking start out at 50? Id prob go up to 70 though. Does that sound fair?
