Im going to see Romeo and Juliet at the San Francisco ballet this friday. what is the appropriate dress code? formal, semi formal, or can we wear jeans?
i am planning to wear a knee length light pink dress from the forties with white kid gloves and white pumps. my friend is wearing a navy silk knee length dress from the fifties with white cotton gloves, black pumps and a black faux fur caplet.
don't want to embarrass myself by dressing all fancy when i can wear a tee shirt and jeans.

you CANNOT wear jeans to see a ballet!!!! No! xD If you don't want to feel like you'll be embarrassed, wear really nice dress pants with heels. I went to many a Ballet, and they were fancy shmancy.

I'm definitely going to wear gloves (fingers included) and I'm thinking either satin, cotton or leather (leaning towards satin). I also want to know what length would be good for the gloves with this dress. I'm thinking opera-length, but I'm not sure. What should I wear?
okay. the dress is very elegant. therefore, i am thinking white,elbow-length, sating gloves would look amazing with that dress. leather would completley ruin the elegant look to the dress and cotton just isn''t a good material.

The time of that murder was around 1947 i think. I'm not sure if i should go with cotton, lace, or satan. what length?..any suggestions?
