Cotton Dress Fabric

I put some vaseline onto my dress by mistake,how can I remove it,av washed the dress,its not coming out?

A liquid dish soap such as Dawn, should do the trick. Dawn is a great degreaser, so it can easily break down oily stains. Apply it to the stain at least 20 minutes before washing.

If you have already dried it, mix a little baking soda into the Dawn to make a paste. Apply it to the stain and let it dit for about an hour. Then launder as usual.

colbie caillat did the commercial and I keep seeing it on tv. I think its the first dress she holds up, but its a strappy white sun dress with purple flowers. I want to buy one like it, but I didnt know where to go. I went on the official Cotton "Fabric of our Lives" website but its kind of confusing and I dont see it. Anyone know?

and i want quite a strong fabric(nothing flimsy which will be hard to hold for sewing)
does anyone know a good comfertable fabric?

If you look on the back of the pattern, it will tell you which fabrics are suitable for the dress. If those are your choices, go to a fabric store and feel each one. Hold a length of it and see how it'll drape. Of those, linen is the easiest to work with, crepe is the most slippery. I like stretch sateen, personally.

It does not specify on the packet whether its ok to hand dye it as opposed to dying it in the washing machine? plus i want a lighter shade than on the packet so i need more control over the amount of time i dye it for?

i have hand dyed with this stuff, i did it in a bucket outside because it's soo messy
just do it for the time you think, and use a "fixer" on it afterwards
