Cotton Blend Dress

I can't find any slim fit non-iron (or cotton blend) french cuff dress shirts. Suggestions?

~~I use white vinegar on any kind of stains like that. It breaks down body stains better than anything I've used. Spray it right on the stain, let it sit 15 minutes or so then wash. I also add vinegar to my bleach compartment on all whites and linens. It makes whites whiter. The best secret for whites is to double rinse them. So if you can, set your machine for a second rinse, if not you can set it back to rinse before completion. This makes sure your whites are really clean, the vinegar keeps soap build up, and everything comes out fresh and clean. You will not have vinegar odor either-so don't worry about that. You don't even need softener-the vinegar does that too, but I still use it for the nice scent it leaves. For your shirts, just wash as you normally do with the added vinegar and rinse, you'll be very white collared again!~~

I am looking at a super cute dress at oldnavy, but the color is totally wrong. (light brown) I want a black dress.

Can I dye this dress? (72% cotton/28% wool)

I know that i can pick up some rit dye, and i know to use double the dye, because it is black.

Yes. If you Rit dye be sure to follow instructions and be sure to use white vinegar as instructed. Good luck. Cotton & wool are the best fabrics to dye.

I bought this dress intending on dying it a lilac color for a wedding. What kind of dye would be best to use on it? An Acid or Disperse dye? Or are there any others.

The best dyes for cotton, imho, are fiber reactive dyes like Procion MX. Nylon dyes best with acid dyes.

Procion MX will dye either cotton or nylon, but you sometimes see a color shift on nylon -- not bad, but it won't be "as advertized" -- it may be a bit bluer or pinker than you're expecting because of the nylon.

Tried rewashing it and didn't work. Too extensive for one of those gadgets. Think dry cleaning would work?

Get a sweater stone, available at KMart or anyplace like that. It's gentle but will remove the pills.
