Blue Cotton Dress

I bought a white dress for a wedding before I realized white is a wedding no-no, unless you're the bride of course. However, the fabric is cotton, so I was wondering if I could dye it blue, and how. Any ideas?

Not a big fan of Amy Winehouse but happened to see her video clip and i think her blue cotton dress is gorgeous in the video clip "Tears Dry On Their Own" and was wondering if someone knew where it was from!!

It is for an evening function. The dress is royal blue cotton, and could be dressed up or down. It is a short, shift dress. But would that color match with burgundy pumps?

Depends. I don't know what they look like, but I would say to complete the look, have matching accessories.

i ahve just noticed after dying my hair this mring that i somehow managed to get a blob on my favorite shirt dress i am sooo annoyed!!. I have soaked the stain and put some vanish stain remover on but it seems to be staying put....does anyone know of anything which mat remove it or fade the stain so its barely noticable? the dress is a very light blue so its pretty noticable!!
oh it doesnt sound too good..i could cry!!...i LOVE this dress!!..typical eh girls...always the outfit you love which gets ruined..great!

I am not sure you can get dye out of cloth.

I would take it straight to a professional cleaner (NOW) and even bring the box from the dye (buy a new box if you have to) so that you can show him the ingredients of what you got on your dress. If he offers no hope, you may want to have the dress dyed a darker color or see if a seamstress or tailor can partially remake the dress to hide the stain.

My retail/drugstore just got new uniforms; now I have to wear this light blue 65/35 poly/cotton dress shirt. These things get SO linty - last time I washed them with cotton tees and they had a light layer of lint all over them. I'd wash them by themselves but want to conserve blah blah blah - do you think washing them with black dress/work pants would 1) ruin their color (the pants have been washed plenty of times before) or 2) make them linty? How about drying them? Thanks!

Never mix darks and lights no matter what material or how many times they've been washed before. Also, not a good idea to mix pure cottons with poly blends. If you have light colored poly blend sheets, wash your shirts with them. If you mix cottons with polys, that'll cause those awfull little fuzz balls on your sheets and clothing. If you mix dark poly with light poly, you'll still see some dark lint on your lights. It's really important to sort laundry to ge the best results.
