All Cotton Dress Shirt

i have a wonderful black cotton dress button down long sleve dress top .

but the problem is i have these white cotton linty fibers on it>

how can i get it off???
this is stoping me from weraring my top.

Im thinking about washing it in the washing machine alone hoping the watter will remove the fibers.
and drying it inthe dryer so the lint will come off???

Clean the filter on your washing machine, and make sure you don't wash the shirt after you have washed towels or knits. Turn the shirt inside out and wash on cold with very mild detergent. Dry it by itself (again, not after towels) using a dryer sheet. Then use sticky tape to remove the lint. also might consider a good professional dry cleaner in the future.

I have a brand new expensive cotton dress shirt that has an olive oil or plain yogurt stain, actually 3 of them, all 3 the size 1 inch in diameter, brought to the cleaners, no avail, any help thanks....

You should put lots of telcome powder or some white powdered thing on the stain. Leave it for a while so that it can absorb the oil and then wash it.
Well it works good if you put powder asap you get the stain.

heyy there!!

i need help removing red wine on a blue cotton dress shirt and rum on a white cotton dress shirt.. theyve been there for over a week and I tried using a "vanish bar for pre-wash" and it helped but didnt remove the stains!!

I heard club soda or hydrogen peroxide work but is it too late for club soda and will hydrogen peroxide remove the colour on a cotton shirt????

Yes. You want warm but not hot water wash. Spray treat any stains that may be on the shirt, like the collar and sleeves, etc. I'd use a cold water rinse with liquid fabric softener to cut down on wrinkles. You should only have it in the dryer on low for long enough for it to get steamy and then remove it shape and hang it to dry. These is no way to get out of ironing a 100% cotton dress shirt but that will cut down on shrinking/ wrinkles and puckering of the seams in the shirt. Use the steam setting on the iron and also a LIGHT spray starch like Magic Sizing.

I like all-cotton white dress shirts. However after 4 or 5 uses they start getting yellowish under the armpits, which looks terrible. I could replace them after 4-5 uses, but at $45 each that would run a little too expensive for my wallet

Bleach works great for getting out stains. I use bleach on my white cotton sheets, and it's just fine.

You might want to change your deodorant. If you use a spray, switch to a stick, or vice versa. I used to have that problem when I was working housekeeping, and I switched to a stick deodorant to get rid of the problem.
