Waxed Cotton

I don't want to use any type of metals for my jewelry. I'm starting to experiment with waxed cotton cord, I just can't figure out what's the best knot to finish each piece?! Any tutorials out there that are helpful? I prefer visuals than just written instruction.

My mom uses fingernail polish (clear) after tying a regular square knot. I'm not sure if she uses waxed cotton cord, however, but it might work for that as well.

I know leather is the best. Is waxed cotton good for jacket? Is waxed cotton pants better then jeans? Will I get any protection with wax cotton?

waxed cotton will not protect you when sliding on asphalt. It offers better protection than a t-shirt but thats about it. Take it from the "Road Rash King" You are a fool if you even start your bike without full leathers and a helmet on.

If you don't need it waxed, use unwaxed. There is also soy and other plant-based waxes. It burns more intensly, but it works fine. With the declining honey bee numbers, I'd stay away from bees wax until they rebound.

I have cotton cloth strips I use for waxing. How do I remove the wax after I'm done w/ them?
I've done the soaking in hot water thing, but how do I get the wax off because it gets everywhere.

Put them under an old towel or sheet and then iron them. The wax will transfer to the towel or sheet.

I was waxing my legs with waxing strips and accidentally sat on one of them. The beeswax is stuck on the cotton pants and can't get if off. Any tip?
