Waxed Cotton Jacket

If I buy a can of the wax for clothes waterproofing will it work on a hitherto unwaxed cotton jacket and if so does anyone know what to do?

Forget about spraying anything - get yourself some Nikwax. It really works and will treat all of the jacket and you do it yourself. Google it you won't be dissapointed.

I know leather is the best. Is waxed cotton good for jacket? Is waxed cotton pants better then jeans? Will I get any protection with wax cotton?

waxed cotton will not protect you when sliding on asphalt. It offers better protection than a t-shirt but thats about it. Take it from the "Road Rash King" You are a fool if you even start your bike without full leathers and a helmet on.

Not washable or dry cleanable. The cotton fabric is impregnated with a special paraffin base finish. Clean spots on surface layer with a damp cloth. Use stiff brush for loose surface soil

I tried putting the jacket in the freezer and that didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Removing candle wax marks from clothing: Use a popstick or plastic take-away knife to scrape the bulk of the candle wax off. Then place the fabric between multiple layers of paper towel on an ironing board. Ironing should then take the wax out - just keep ironing and changing the paper towels. Finally, dip a cotton ball in ti-tree oil. Have a dry cotton ball on the back of it and roll your two hands in little circles against each other.

I have just bought a waxed cotton jacket that can't be washed or dry cleaned due to the finish of the fabric, but it smells really musty. I know that you can use ammonia, borax, vinegar, baking soda etc. in the washing machine, but how can I get the smell out at home without getting the jacket wet?
It's been hanging in a well ventilated place for a week, and I've already febrezed it twice.

Hang it outside on a nice day and let the fresh air blow through it.

I also have some wax cotton pants with cloth lining (for motorbike riding). I live in Sydney btw. How much do you think - I would have no idea.

If you really look around you can find cheap drycleaners, like there is one near my house that charges cheaply for like 1.75 a piece. But there are also expensive ones, that i know that can charge about 6-8 dollars a dress, so you would probably be looking at 10 bucks for a nice leather jacket.

To tell you the truth, i think getting clothes drycleaned at a cheaper place will do just as good of a job. Someone i knew that worked at an expensive drycleaners, told me the reason they charge so muchwas only because the machines were nicer, but all the soaps, detergents, and pressing equipment they used were the cheapest stuff, which can sometimes effect clothes
