Don't people sew outdoor wear mostly? What are these people making with this, to me, useless material?
Thanks, but I know all the outdoor fabric stores already. It just disheartening to go to the fabric store and see nothing I can use.
Quilting is a real big fad right now, and many of these poly cottons are used by quilters. Quilters are know to buy huge quantities of fabric and since stores love to make money, they stock plenty of these fabrics so they can sell to roaming hordes of quilters.
Are you looking for outdoor wear fabrics? I know several on line stores that specializes in outdoor fabrics for sports, hiking, skiing, whatever you might want to do outdoors; everything from polar fleece to gore-tex to thinsulate interlining to the linings, zippers and snaps. You want a make a tent...I know a store that sells tent nylon!

First off, is there an area where you can check for colorfastness that is not too noticeable? If so, and it is colorfast, I would try Soilove laundry treatment. If it is not available locally, you can purchase it on line at SoapsGoneBuy.com. It costs a less than 2 dollars a bottle. If that does not work, I highly recommend Tide liquid detergent as a pretreatment before washing. I have had excellent luck with both products.

The quilt has a theme of halloween/gothic chic but nothing too childlike if this helps and all the fabric I find seems to be 100 percent cotton.
You most likely will not find a blend and only cotton.
JoAnn Fabrics, Hancock Fabric (if there is one near you) or Hobby Lobby will have the best selection and prices.
I'm referring to yard goods that have already been cut & have no identification in the selvage.
You could try the burn test. Cotton fabric will burn, not melt and smells like burned paper. Polyester will melt and smells sweet. It leaves a black residue. The site below gives more information.
