Need conversion chart for DMC tapestry wool to DMC mouline cotton floss. Chart on DMC website is incomplete.?
threads1

I am trying to cross stitch an E.Bradley design for a pillow using DMC mouline or perle cotton. I already have the DMC Wool number conversion, from E.Bradley, but I need to transfer those numbers to DMC cotton mouline floss. DMC provides a chart for their colors, but the chart is not complete and many numbers are missing from their chart. I have contacted DMC about this problem, but I have received no reply. Thank you.

I just looked on the DMC-USA website. The floss/tapestry wool conversion chart is 9 pages long and seems to cover every floss number. It may be you think it's incomplete because not every tapestry wool color has an exact match in embroidery floss but I think this is about as close as you're going to get, unless you want to hand-match the colors yourself.

  • A very red lighthouse!

The lantern room and railing below it were stitched with black DMC #5 perle cotton to set these areas off a bit from the background. The railing supports were worked in a satin stitch with DMC floss #644. The bright red tower itself was stitched with DMC floss #817 in basketweave. The tiny window is a single cross stitch in DMC floss #317; the same thread was used in a diagonal vertical cross stitch for the panes of the larger window. Kreinik #12 tapestry braid #202HL in tent stitch was used for the beacon.
