My fiance just found out that he is Allergic to cotton. So he can't wear boxers or briefs. He doesn't like silk either. Is there any other type of fabric that doesnt contain cotton? What would be a good choice? Where can I buy them? Right now he's wearing silk but I need to do something quick! He doesn't like them! HELP!!
2xist makes a soy/spandex blend (see link), and there may be similar things out there.

I am a man who wears womans panties all the time, I don't even own mens underwear. I have done this since 1993. why are woman are able two wear what ever they want, but a man has to be stuck in the same boring white heavy cotton thick banded underwear? To buck the system more, I even turned to wearing Kilts all the time (kilts are a mans garment to begin with). But this excercise in equal freedom is looked down upon by woman. I understand its an issue woman have, I mean, I understand its a STUPID issue woman have, but now I find myself not wanting to change because I like the different styles of panties there are, and I also like the feeling for freedom the kilt offers (50% of the time, nothing is worn under the kilt) is it possible that there are woman out there that would ever accept a man like me? to be truthful, its not the clothes that make the man, because I can still rock the hell out of a woman anytime she needs me to & still not take sh!t from any other guy. I am hetero.
It's not a woman thing, it's a social thing - they aren't in themselves being hippocrites, they are reflecting a negative aspect of our culture.
Historically our society has always been "patriarchal" (a little bit of a silly term because it's not specifically rule by fathers, but traditional North American WASP masculinity is what sets the social rules of our society). In this world-view it's more acceptable for women to dress and behave like men than vice versa for a number of reasons.
The first is the kind of half-homophobia our culture gets from being traditionally masculine. After all, lesbians are a fantasy for most men, but homosexual males are a terror . . . the funny thing about it is statistically very very few cross-dressers are homosexual (in fact the vast majority quite adore women!)
Secondly success, strength, and "masculinity" are what is respected in this culture - women who behave like "men" may not be liked, but will succeed because they can play the same game - similarly they can dress more like men because it just opens doors for lesbian fantasies and fetishes about "breaking" tough girls. Businesses will reward woman who dress more like men because it fits their traditional look, but if you come in dressed like a woman it will be read as either funny or disgusting. After all, its "respectable" if uncomfortable for some to have women breaking into a "mans" world (and in some areas it is still more of a boys club than it should be) - but a man breaking into a woman's role is disturbing to our culture, at one time it would be seen as a deliberate dehumanizing. "Silly" feminine things are looked down on in general. In fact, historically men who were captured by mobs or gangs would sometimes be dressed in womens clothing to degrade and humiliate them. It tells you how little our culture thought of women (and thus even less of men who resembled the stereotypes connected to them in some ways). At one time cross dressing was unbeatable comic fodder, it tells you that our culture is conditioned to find social movement in that direction ridiculous at the very least.
Which is again funny because most cross dressers are pretty big, tough men!
Finally the more soft and traditional dress for women is sexually charged in our society - so saying you like to wear these things will cause discomfort to most people who don't realize that their feelings aren't inborn, but conditioned. It skews their automatic sexual associations. Men who have a fetish for panties for example, will have a very hard time dealing with their fetish being attached to a man because it threatens their own sexuality and makes them uncomfortable. The same clothing that women wear to help make themselves feel sexually appealing will often disturb them on a man - their response will often be that it makes that guy look womanly (and combined with things that most people would consider very unattractive on a woman such as body hair and muscle mass will probably cause more than a little disgust).
You might say women's clothes are sexualized for both genders - women wear them to feel sexy and men like to look at them because it makes them sexually exited. Men's clothes are more likely to be viewed by men and a significant number of women as simply "professional" - practical work clothes. On a woman construction worker clothes might give men a charge, but as a whole a construction workers outfit isn't considered a sexy thing. However lingerie for example is specifically a sexual thing and has almost no practical use beyond that. A man who chooses to wear womens clothes will be viewed as making a specifically sexual statement that demeans them and is stereotypically homosexual (even though as you stated that's not true for you or even the vast majority of other cross-dressers). Again, none of these associations are likely to be true, but that's part of the gender dynamic in our culture.
It will be hard finding women who accept that, but it sounds like you are comfortable enough with yourself to realize that you wouldn't be happy with an "average" woman anyway. Just like you like to buck the system, you probably need to find women who are equally interested in bucking norms - I bet that combination would be one heck of an exciting one for everyone involved!

I am travelling with my girlfriend and her parents on a holiday to India and we are leaving in 1 week. As my girlfriend and her parents
have never been there before they are taking alot of advise from
other people.
Leading up to our trip my girlfriend and her parents have made me
change the coloured brief underwear I normally wear to white
cotton long leg boxer shorts and a white singlet. They have
been told that this is the standard underwear worn over
there as the singlet looks more respectable under the
white long sleeve shirt and tie her father is wearing
and also making me wear.
I feel they are being given misguided information about many things
from mens dress standards to the womens dress requirements and
even the way the mens hair should be cut.
I even had to go to thier local Barber with her father last weekend for
an extremely short back and sides haircut held in place with hair oil
because that is what they have been told is the typical haircut for
men and boys in India.
Is what they are being told correct or am I going through these
changes for nothing ? I am sure not used to such old fashion
underwear and especially wearing a white long sleeve shirt
and tie feels strange. Although I am self concious about
such short hair and hair oil I realise I can't do anything
about it now as it has already been cut and shaved
very short.
I would be interested in the true facts if anyone has lived or travelled
in India.
Are you kidding? Indians will stare at you only if you are wearing bright-colourful Aloha shirts.. all the rest is okay .. tie is worn only if you are going for a businees meeting / interview or if its a part of your workplace dress code... Nobody really wears ties .. its not at all common, And
its a torture to wear it in such horribly humid weather.
Indian people here are used to tourists and have no problem with their different appearance.
Just wear whats comfortable for you.. 100% cotton clothes loose fitting and comfortable will work best. Not necessarily white too as i said.
As for haircut , only men with ponytails will be looked down upon :) rest everything is fine! I am an indian myself and have not put hair-oil for last 20 years.. its a personal choice , some people do it some don't.. some use other modern hair styling products.
Heres a fun pic of traditional indian mens underwear , http://flickr.com/photos/hpk/19272911
So yes, white undershirt and boxers are the usual things. No one really wears colored underwear much.
( Just curious.. why does it matter to anyone what kind of underwear you wear? Apart from ur girlfriend may be ;) )
Just relax.. don't worry so much..
Indian people are really nice and welcome all kinds of people :)
It looks to me like your girlfriend and parents want you to follow their own standards !
