I am making old-fashioned futons (heavy Japanese quilts). My great grandmother always layered raw cotton between cotton batting.
When I did upholstery for my car, I purchased raw cotton from an upholstery supply shop to go on top of the foam padding. It was sold in a roll (but it was just raw cotton) and was inexpensive. I imagine it would do perfectly for a futon as you described.

They are for carpenters I think and usually made out of cotton and black. One of my friends got a pair but her could never wear them because his girlfriend said they we not proper to wear. I think they look intersting though. What are they called?
Did you mean these?

Construction workers use to wear these shoes. They are called Jikatabi. Literal meaning is outdoor sox.
His girlfriend is right. They are proper only for outdoor working.
Im doing an advertising project for school and I am selling a mattress. What kinds of mattresses are you interested in? And would a wealthier target audience be interested in a Japanese themes matress with Japanese cotton and bamboo box spring? Please give me your feedback. Knowledge of marketing would be appreciated.
An important thing to keep in mind is that there is a heated competition going on between the companies that use memory foam and those that make traditional mattresses.
Which are you choosing for your project? Here's a hint of where you should be looking:
Are users happy with foam or what percentage think they are "too hot" to sleep on?
Best of luck with your project!
They're about 3 to 4 inches thick made of cotton
Try looking for a Japanese supermarket in your area. A LOT of them have small vendor shops inside that sell all kinds of Japanese goods. I have seen futons for sale in the 200 dollar range in my local place (Mitsuya) in San Diego.

Specifically a lady's yukata and very lightweight cotton.
Usually yukatas aren't that expensive since they are way thinner than kimonos. Best places to buy a yukata would be Japan, but i doubt you want to fly there just for that. Ebay, Craiglist, and Amazon are the best. Ebay you could probably find one that is from Japan and have it shipped over.

Go on... Have a bite: Cotton Soft Japanese Souffle Cheesecake
Melt cream cheese, milk and butter over a double boiler. Allow to cool. Fold in the plain flour, corn flour, egg yolks, lemon juice and vanilla extract until well incorporated. Whisk egg whites with sugar until soft peaks form. Fold the egg whites into the cream cheese mixture. Pour into a 9 inch round cake pan. Bake cheesecake in water bath for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until set and golden brown at 160°C. Allow to cool in oven with oven slightly ajar to prevent surface cracking.
