How can I shrink100% cotton clothing that I've already taken through a hot dryer?

Hot water in the wash and highest temp in the dryer. After that, you're stuck with whatever size it shrunk down to.

Next stop.....the tailers for alterations.

If I wash my clothes in hot water, that is cotton shirts and blue jeans will they shrink even if not dried?

Like, I have cotton shirts, and denim jeans, and I wash them in hot water, my fiance says they shrink, I tell her they only shrink when I dry them, and the jeans only shrank once, is this true, or are the clothes shrinking every time I wash wheather I dry or not? My clothes my whole life have never shrank, and I have used hot water to wash and warm sometimes cold to rinse, and I dry on high heat all the time, she says I buy extra baggy clothes so I don't notice the shrinking, I just want to know if it is true that they are shrinking by washing in hot water, the label says to wash in like colors in warm water.

Our washer washes in hot, we can was in cold but I prefer hot, gets 'em cleaner, and it rinses in cold, but it is not too cold just a little cooler than room temp.

Our clothes are American cotton, and some are even mixed with polyester, and most were bought at Wal-Mart or Ross.

If you don't dry the jeans they will be hard if no softener is used, But they will not shrink. You need the dryer for that. Do his the way he thinks and let him see the difference, when you put yours in the dryer.

What is the best clothing materials to wear when it is extremely hot?

I heard white cotton clothing is good against extreme heat. Any truth to this?

Is there anything else good?

Cotton and long sleeves it keeps the sun off the skin. It has to be a light color.

Does warm water cause clothing to shrink? Do new clothing shrink anyway if you wash it?
IMG_6767

Does warm water cause (100% cotton) clothing to shrink? I heard that if you wash it in whether its cold or warm, a new shirt will always shrink.

Recently i bought a shirt/beaker (100% cotton) at ae, it was just the right fit but it was tight on the arms. (size 2) Should i get a size larger, even though this onne shows my curves? or Should i get a size larger (size 4) and then put it in warm water?

BTW, i know that heat/hot shrinks clothes. But what about warm water?

Thanks for answering. I'll give 10 points if you answer all my questions.
LIst your sources pleaaasee!!!!

Warm water can cause some shrinkage, but in reality, any temperature of water can cause shrinkage in a cotton shirt. Cotton fiber is very absorbent and the fibers swell or expand when wet and then when the moisture is removed, the fiber pulls in a great deal. (That is the simplest way to describe it.)

Another thing related to 100% cotton tees is that most likely it is a knit fabric. Knit fabrics shrink more than a woven fabric. Knits are items like sweaters, t-shirts, sweats, etc. Wovens are items like jeans, dress pants, button up dress shirt.

I suggest that you go with the larger size because if the arms are already tight, they are only going to get tighter and bind your arms. The size 4 will be your best bet because it will likely shrink a little due to both the cotton content and the knit structure. PLUS, if you find that the item did not shrink enough for you in warm water, then wash with hot water and dry a little longer the next time. Just don't over do it.

Children are always cold, big resistance often comes down to this low. Ever considered, and perhaps their own care is a problem, it is certain “love” to the baby created cold conditions, such as Lengrebujun.

Do not go holding the baby in his arms to receive her mother’s body temperature; “free” operation of child-minute non-stop bouncing and vivacious, a larger volume of activities. But he had more than my parents wear.

    Cause analysis:

Infants and young children’s own heat production ability is poor, due to give a child to wear unlined or a thin layer of vests can. But there is no reason for poor children and their parents dressed one season .
