I plan to replace my bike's existing stock filters
My bike is 125 CC Hero Honda Glamour
which among the two is better :
K & N Air filters or
Green Cotton Air filters
Which will improve the performance of my bike ?
Bro for a 125cc bike,K&N is surely the best .It would improve the pickup& throttle of your bike.....
Should go for it...Do buy it from an authorized dealer/store...coz their are a lot of fake stuff in the market...Be sure to buy original stuff & also check out about the warranty of the product.

I just saw today that there is some places of my aqueon filter. I know it's supposed to built up good bacteries, but those things are normal too? Should I clean? It doesn't look nice, there's cotton and green stuff on the blue pieces and also on the black areas.
I'm holding myself not to cleaning it before someone answers me.
I have to do a water change anyway, but should I clean those things? I've had the tank for about 3 months and it's first time this happens.
My filter is this one http://www.petco.com/product/102601/Aque on-Aquarium-Power-Filters.aspx?cm_mmc=CS EMGooglebase-_-Fish-_-Aqueon-_-1083767&a mp;mr:trackingCode=A2E9EB15-8381-DE11-B7 F3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA
My advice is to go ahead and clean. Your filter was designed to function and to look nice too. I am sure it will function well if it is clean. After all, you purchased the set-up for your enjoyment. So clean it up the way you like it, and ENJOY.

Hey, I have a 20 gallon tank with a very small Green Terror in it. I've had him for a few months now and he seems very happy and is growing at a nice rate. I don't feed him a ton of food so I'm pretty sure that there is no over feeding. I change the water and the filter carbon/cotton every other week.
Today I noticed a puffy white mold like substance growing on my filter. I have never seen this before and have no clue what it is. The mold is not in the water, it is surrounding the inner portions of the filter above the water line and has grown a touch out of the small vent like things on the filter cap.
I am using a Whisper power 30 and have had no problems up until this white puffy stuff. I use water conditioners when I change the water and keep the ph level at or around 6.8-7.0
My fish seems happy and healthy but I am concerned about the mold, my nephew has pretty bad allergies. I had an issue with Ich a few weeks back but that is ok now.
Any help would be appreciated
It looks like cotton growing on the filter casing, it's not growing in the water. I suppose it could be mineral or calcium deposits, but not sure.
I do not think this is ich or mold. I think it might be algea though. ONE time, I mean just one time, thats all it took, i screwed around with my ph to make it balance at 7.0 figuring this would be a good thing. Well it balanced at 7.0 like 4 days later, but in the mean time, the water looked like someone poured a cup of milk in the tank, and I had this white filmy looking thing, that semi clumped build up in my filter as well. I deduced this to be algea as my readings on ammonia and nitrite had not dropped, and when I rinsed it out of the filter, my readings did not raise either. The only deduction I came to it had to be an algea growth. I will confess this much, I am no expert on disease or molds/fungus's either, and many times I'll shoot a mail to MM or Copperhead because they excel in the Biochemistry end of things where as I'm more of a applied chemistry person. I think this is a very interesting question, and I think my 2 cents here isn't as likely to help you out as some others your going to get. In either event I just wanted you to know, you're not alone in getting this occurance and I hope you'll get a much better answer from the others. All the best to you.

k & n's home-page tells U 2use only their cleaner & oil , stating that other types of cleaners & oils could damage the "tiny cotton-microfibers". But I know that any brand will do just as good . . . . . I just dont know what "Type" of cleaner , and what "Type" of oil !
Will engine degreaser , Simple-Green , or Awesome be ok ?
And how thin of an oil should be used ?
And is petroleum-based oil ok ? Synthetic ?
Soap and water can clean it but their oil works best
i bought quick cure with the active ingredient malachite green. i applied 10 drops since its a 10 gallon tank. i have this filters with white cotton like material and charcoal and another black polyester material do i keep the filter running or do i take out a part of it and leave it running or d i just remove the filter... and hw long should i keep thsi treatment up for? can i still feed the fish? and what abut water changes?
You need to take the carbon (charcoal) out of your filter, if you haven't done this yet. The black material may be carbon-based so I would recommend removing it too. Any carbon will absorb the medication, then it will be useless to your fish. If there's a white or blue pad the traps particles in the water, you should leave that in.
You need to treat your fish for 10-14 days, or at least 3-5 days after you don't see any spots. The directions on the bottle will say three days, but this isn't correct. The parasites are protected inside a cyst when they're on your fish (the white spots you see), so the medication can't affect them in this stage. It's only when they drop off your fish that they can be killed. If you stop treating too early, the fish can be reinfected.
Feed the fish as normal.
When you do a water change, you will need to replace the medication that is removed. Use a marked bucket or a gallon jug so you know how many gallon you take out of the tank, then add this many drops of medication after you replaced the water.
