My 12 month old needs some tights to wear with her little fall skirts and dresses. I'm not talking about the thin opaque tights, I'm talking the THICK cotton tights. I like the ones with the cute patterns and such, but Gymboree is so expensive. Where can I get some cute ones for fairly inexpensive? Tried eBay already.
Target and Walmart have them.
Children's Place does too. They are less expensive than Gymboree, more expensive than Walmart.
You could also but on leggings under those dresses for fall and winter. You can find inexpensive leggings at those same places.

my 9 yr old wants to wear cotton tights to school but with high boots , i said no, but i heard from other parents its ok, is this a bit to "appealing" to sicko's out there ? as i do love my daughter alot.and i want her to be safe. she wants to wear the school girl kilt and stockings, fashion trend. i agreed on nice boots but stockings, and sheers one!!!!! no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you mean that she wants to wear a short skirt to accompany these high boots. There is really no point in wearing high boots if the skirt goes way down.
The problem is that these poor girls have as their roles models singers and actors who dress very slutty. If I were you, I would get her into a different school or homeshcool her. It is really sad when all the girls dress like this. She is way too young and you should be enforcing decent morals on her better than you are.

I know that "tights" are back in style, generally meaning black only and opaque tights or sheer black pantyhose. I was just wondering if girls still dressed sensibly today as they did in the early part of the decade. Black and only black is boring and too morbid after awhile, so do any girls still wear skin colored tights aka sheer or nude pantyhose with their dresses or skirts? I'm sure some still do the ones who will say it's for grannies don't have a clue what they're talking about, because stockings will always be sexy, whether or not you think that pantyhose are less or more sexy than them, stockings will always be sexy, and they're made of the same material as pantyhose. Nylon. Not cotton leggings. ugh. sorry. Btw I like shiny spandex leggings more than pants, but they'll never be sexier than pantyhose, unless you're indecent about it, and have your ass showing. Still not classy. Not quite as sexy either, just a bit slutty.

I personally love wearing tights! They are so nice, especially on days when your legs don't look as nice as usual...I wear brown ones and black ones and lace ones and skin colored ones...and I am in high school.
I mainly wear them with boots or heels...but thats just me.
So yes high school girls do still wear pantyhose/tights.
Basically:
*My school doesn't allow girls to wear patterned tights!
*But I wore some today with over-the-knee socks on-top!
*Soo my teacher said not to wear the patterned tights and that my socks have to be below the knee!
HERE'S THE PROBLEM:
*My skirt is mid-thigh length and I don't feel comfortable wearing socks below the knee... BUT I don't just want to wear tights as its too cold!

I wore fishnets with long socks but it didnt look slutty cause the tights were covered, apart from the bit above the knee!
fashion hey!! schools just don't understand.
What about a compromise? wearing plain tights of a thickness you are comfortable with and wear the socks you had on before over the knee when outside and folded down under the knee when in school.
