Would I be able to take a basic wrap dress I already own to a seamstress/tailor and ask to have it copied?

I have a wrap dress I love and I want to make more copies of it- is there anything I need to know before I find a seamstress/tailor to make it? The fabric is 100% polyester, but could I bring in a different type (maybe all cotton or a blend)?
Thanks for all the answers so far- will she have to take apart my current dress in order to do it? (i don't want that to happen)


Sure, if your seamstress is a good one he/she should be able to easily do this. Good luck. I know what it's love to love a piece of clothing so much you want more than one of it.

I just bought a 70% cotton 30% silk wrap dress in black. The fabric is just a little shiny due to the 30% silk. If you've seen this type of fabric before, please answer my question:

Does it look nice/stylish or does it qualify as "cheap" since it's not 100% silk? Would you wear a cotton/silk blend?

How much should i dress my 3 week old baby?
First dress ever

2 cotton bodysuits 1 pajama or 1 bodysuit full sleeve and one fleece overall,wrapped up and blankie on with room temperature 70-72.Which is more appropriate.How did u dress your baby in winter.


wow u over dressing your baby just with a pajama (a whole pj with the zipper or buttons) and a under shirt like a tee (gerber has them) and wrap her in a blankie the thin ones i have 3kids i use to over due it with my 1st she end up with heat bumps...u dont want the baby to be too tight and not be able to strech..also i was told that if you are hot the baby is to if you are cold so is the baby..maybe is a myth but everyone is different...also you can have pjs that dont have footsies just but socks on u dont have to over due it hope this helps

    I had the same experience–and going up a size didn’t work because the fabric is too clingy. Also, there was just something about the waist that made feel like I was tied up in knots. This dress was better than a similar one currently at BR, but it still wasn’t comfortable.
