Cotton Training Pants

I am starting to get ready to potty train my 18 month old and I was wondering what are the best cotton training pants that I should buy. I live in Ontario and I don't mind having to order something from the internet. I looked at the gerber training pants and don't think that they will do the trick. I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Buy ones from walmart. Something you're not going to get attached to b/c she will have accidents. If you don't want those kind try shopping on line for something more specific. GOOD LUCK!

I am trying to potty train my 3 year old son...and cotton training pants was suggested. I can't seem to find them anywhere. Has anybody tried them? Do they work?
You can find them at Wal*Mart? I will have to check there!

I like them very much. My girls felt like they were wearing big girl panties, but they had a little padding to catch any accidents so there wasn't too much of a mess to clean up. You can find them at Target, Kmart, or Walmart. Toys R Us might have them too. Good luck!

And what the best (i.e. inexpensive, or free shipping, service) places online to get them?

Gerber discontinued their 5T line of Training Pants, which covered up to 55 lbs.

The only place I know of that has cotton training pants that big is www.greenmountaindiapers.com. I'm not totally sure of the cost, but I believe they're pretty reasonable. Good luck with potty trainining your older child. I've always been one that believes in waiting until they're ready too.

I am currently trying to potty train my 2-year-old son. He will sit on the potty with no problems but will not go. Once you put him in a pull-up, he will go right away. I find that the pull-ups are a waste of money. My mom used cotton training pants on my brother and I when we were toddlers and she found it was the best way to potty train us. I have no problem having my mop on stand-by.

Any words of wisdom for me?

GO NAKED!! This sounds odd at first, but has worked for me--twice. I potty trained my two year old son (who is now three), and my two year old sister (who's still two) very easily this way. My mom was having so much trouble with my sister she asked for my help. She went on a trip to Chicago for a week, and came back to a well potty trained two year old little girl.

If you are a stay at home mom this isn't so hard. My son and sister also would "go" as soon as their bottoms hit the pull up. My sister even went as far as to bring me the pull up every time she had to go. I took off the pull up and explained we don't go on the floor. If you have to go, tell mommy or (sister), and we'll go in the potty. THEY WILL GO ON THE FLOOR A TIME OR TWO. This is expected and actually very good. When they do so the first time, explain that we don't go on the floor, make them help clean it up, and continue with your day. When--not if--they do it the second time, discipline in whatever way your family sees fit. Again, explain that we don't go on the floor, make them help clean it up, and so on. They will eventually come to you and say the magic words "I have to____". Some have more accidents than others. My son had SEVERAL more than my sister.

If your children are in daycare send them in undies. If they aren't uncomfortable, they have no reason to stop. If you don't like naked, still, use undies at home. When he does have an acident, let him be uncomfortable for a while, he'll begin to really hate the feeling and stop doing it.

Remember which ever method you do decide to go with CONSISTENCE is the key!!! It's some work, but man, when oyu can go down the baby isle and not even look at the pampers, you'll be SO glad!

Is there anywhere online that sells cloth training pants online like the ones on blueberrydiapers.com but for cheaper? I tried diapers.com but they don't even sell regular training pants...lol thats the only place that I could think of that might sell them... Thanks!
