Cotton Ticking

After walking my dogs today, I was checking one of them for ticks and found one near her neck. I took a piece of cotton wool and pulled it out, but I have a feeling that I didn't get the head out. I know this is very dangerous so what should I do now? Should I bring her straight to the vet or should I try to get the head out on my own?

I work at a vet and this may not be as serious as you think. Of course you should try to get the head out on your own, as there is no real danger imposed by doing so. There are some parasite and other related diseases that dogs get from ticks however since the dog is exposed at the time of the bite, it would be too late to worry about that. Don't be alarmed however dogs everywhere get ticks and I would say 98% of the time they are fine. I would recommend using a good tick product like frontline plus however which kills ticks when they bite your dog. I would just attempt to get the tick's head out and continue to watch the bite. Don't worry because this is not a huge deal.

It ticks really loudly when the second hand moves. It is on the wall, so whatever I try to do to it can't make a bulge on the back. I once had a small clock that did that and I taped some cotton to the back and that helped, but I can't do that with this one since it's against the wall. It is driving me crazy and I may have to get rid of it if I can't find a solution to this problem. The next wall clock I buy will not have a second hand!

I think it's just the clock, but maybe getting some sticky felt on the back? It could insulate the ticking noise. You can get sticky backed felt and cut it to fit. It's flat...

I know this might sound weird, but some teachers/workers at school get ticked over the smallest inappropriate things. Ok so I wanted to wear a dress tomorrow with leggings. The dress is cotton, and not like a prom dress/ or to fancy, but cute. The dress with leggings on is a little bit above my fingers. I have about average sized arms, and I'm 5'6 if that helps. Would this be ok, with lepord brown/black flats?

if you are wearing leggings under the dress im sure it would be fine.. it's just like wearing pants and you aren't showing skin.

if a teach complains.. raise hell :) you aren't wearing anything wrong lol

I just found out yesterday that my dog (a yorkshire terrier) had some black liquidy substance in her ear. I tried cleaning the outer part of the ear with a cotton swab. No matter how many times i cleaned it out, the substance did not seem to go away. We scheduled an appointment with the vet today. I often check my dog's ear for problems. I do not know how I seemed to miss this problem. She had been scratching her ear quie a lot lately. She does not go outside for walks and such. We figure that, for such a little dog, being able to run inside the house (basement) is good, and she is potty trained. I did a quick research and it says that maybe this could be the cause of mites, ticks, or those sort of things. Could this be an infection? Today I checked her ear again (before the vet appointment) and the substance seemed to increase. I wish I could have a guess or hypothesis of what might have caused this before I goto the vet with her later today. Any suggestions?

It may be mites, the vet will give you pesticide to treat it; if it is an infection (yeast or bacterial) you will get antibiotics or yeast cream.
You might want to ask the vet to recommend an earwash for routine maintenance, after the infection is cleared.
Not your fault; dogs pick stuff up. Just like our 2-legged kids do. Don't beat yourself up over it, you're getting her to the vet as soon as possible and that is what counts. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

not heavy. try a whiteish beige base and a brown or beige on the lid below your crease. in the crease put brown(if your main color was beige) or a dark purple/maroon color(if your main color is brown) in the crease

i recommend MAC colors: shroom->base; saddle-> brown; sketch-> crease color
