Cotton Sweat Pants

The tag says they're 60% cotton and 40% polyester, what is the best way to wash them to avoid shrinking? Oh, if it matters they're also a light grayish white color, not a dark color.

For the first trip through the laundry they should be with similar color items. Washing doesn't contribute to the shrinkage problem, and as others have said turning them inside out might be a good idea. The real problem with shrinkage happens in the dryer. Heat is the demon of shrinkage, so keep the heat low! For the life of the garment if you dry it with high heat the fabric will shrink. If you don't want to worry about shrinking clothes, especially cotton, an easy thing is to buy your cotton clothing a bit large and then shrink them right off and not have to worry about it. This is a good defense if someone else might do your laundry for you sometime and be careless with the dryer setting.

I got these sweat pants for christmas, and they are pretty big on me. But I did not get the gift receipt so how could i shrink them?

They are made of 60% cotton 40% polyester
The tag size is medium but i think i would fit into a small.

Kinda hard to shrink with it only being 60% cotton. try washing in hot water then on hot in the dryer.

Ok...I live in vegas and I don't know were they sell plain, gray seat pants (cotton sweats...not the noisy one)

Someone said if I put my black cotton sweat pants in the dryer after I wash them the color will fade? And If I do the same with my black cotton jacket, Will the black color fade too?

Yes it is true, but they will fade from washing in harsh soaps too...use a gentle liquid soap like Woolite, rinse well and hang dry.

a few weeks ago my friend was wearing jeans. but the material wasnt jean material at all. it was kinda like cotton sweat pants that were designed to look exactly like jeans. help?

were they baggy?
if they are you can buy these from primark for only 2 pounds, i have around 5 pairs haha.
