Where can I buy a 100% cotton sports bra?

Our XC team is tie dying sports bras, but they have to be 100% cotton and I don't know where to look. I've tried Target, but couldn't find them. Maybe I was looking hard enough? Please help, with brands or stores.

They have those C9 brand ones at Target that aren't 100% cotton, but still tie dye pretty well. Some girls from my team used them and they still look really cool, even after a lot of washes. You could try those.

Can I tie Dye a sports bra that is not cotton?

I am wanting to tie dye a sports bra for my cheer tryouts on monday, but I am not sure if the dye will work on a nylon fabric, or any other fabric for that matter..

I also do not know what kind of dye to buy...

I am looking at a C9 by champion seamless bra from target.

I am tie dying it blue.

It all depends on the fiber content! It looks like the bra you've chosen is 94% nylon and 6% spandex. Spandex is a bit of a problem because it is heat-sensitive. Too much heat will cause it to lose its shape, which would ruin the bra. Check the care instructions label and follow its cautions in order to avoid this.

Nylon can be dyed with acid dyes, or you can use a fabric paint, such as Dharma Pigment Dyes. The problem with acid dyes is that they do require heat. You cannot apply acid dye in cool water and expect it to stick well. You will have to compromise between your nylon's need for heat and your spandex's need to avoid heat. Try using very hot tap water to mix with your dye. Also, although Rit does not say anything about this in their instructions, the dye will work much better on nylon if you add a bit of vinegar to the dye. Add 100 ml (about 2/5 cup) of vinegar to every gallon of water you use.

All-purpose dye, such as Rit or Tintex, is an easy way to buy a rather overpriced acid dye, because it contains a mixture of an acid dye that works on nylon and wool, with a direct dye that works on cotton but washes out of nylon. The acid dye found in this type of dye is not the most wash-proof. You will have to be very careful to hand wash your dyed bra separately in cool water, every time you wash it. If you want a dye for your nylon bra which will not bleed as much in the laundry, you can buy Lanaset dye by mail-order.

What is the best sports bra for under a tank top?

I wear tank tops all the time in the spring and summer and I'm looking for a very thin, cotton, seamless sports bra to wear underneath so that I don't need to wear a regular bra with bra straps showing. Any recommendations?

You know sports bra straps are bigger than regular bras if you wear a sports bra that is heavy duty. Now I don't know your size, so you may wear the sports bras that have very thin straps, which work perfectly in what you want. But the best kind would probably a sports bra that had those, I don't know which brand that is though. Look for a sports bra that is like a regular bra in straps except skinnier and then looks like a regular sports bra.

Something like this::

That's a good bra, you may not want it that long though... but it gives you a general idea. Also, make sure that it is comfortable too. I don't know if you plan on running around in these sports bra too but make sure it supports you there too before you buy it.

The most supportive sports bra?

I have recently added running to my workout routine, but I have not found the right sports bra. I want a bra that WILL NOT let me move when running, jumping rope or any intense activity. My friend suggested a Champion cotton sports bra, but when I checked, they stopped making it 3 weeks ago! Just my luck!
I know I am not the only runner who is top heavy...
Please help!

I use ones by Nike. They change their design every few months, but they're still fundamentally the same. I've found that the T-back sports bras you pull on over your head offer the best support overall.

As for support, try buying one size smaller. So if you wear a size L for example, try a size M and see how it works for you. Also, put it on and jump around in the dressing room for a while before you commit to purchase.

  • Sports Bra Part II

This pullover bra got the highest rating from our largest breasted testers, and these women have tried every bra. Most bras are made of knitted fabrics that give, not control. But our bra is made of a stretch woven fabric, plus a whopping 32% Lycra. Whew!!! As one of our testers said, "It's almost like not having breasts at all. Well almost." Warning: major masher bra. 45% cotton, 32% Lycra, 23% nylon. When it comes to sports support, this bra is a threefold blessing. Blessing 1: a four-layer, 5 point support system gives you that "no-move" kind of compression. Blessing 2: with three layers of power mesh, this bra actually breathes, aaahhhh. And blessing number 3: an adjustable back hook closure...
