I'm trying to find a good nursing bra. I really don't like the cotton bras like they have at Wal Mart. I'd rather have the silky ones and ones that are padded not just thin material. Just wondering where you thought was the best place to buy nursing bras for a reasonable price.
I liked the ones from Target. They are reasonably priced, comfortable, and they have the silky, non-padded ones you are looking for. I only bought two and they held up very well, especially considering I used them for 16 months!
Medium support nursing bra by Emma Jane with dainty lace top. A well designed bra with 100% cotton drop cups. Available from Bumps Maternity Wear ...
Im really flat chested and i have more...perky...lol nipples so i need a little bit of shape in the bra, not just a cotton stretch bra. Ive heard alot of good things about the nummie bras in the "Style" style.
What your favorite?
The first few weeks I wore a nursing sports bra (the one from motherhood) and a nursing tank. I liked that bra a lot!! Other times I would ware just a nursing tank, with pads in it.
After about 2-3 weeks, I just started wearing my bras and pushing them to the side.

How do I wash out lanolin from cotton nursing bras? The stuff did not wash out with regular washing detergent. Will clothes stein remover work or make it worse?
OK... I actually contacted both Medela and Lansinoh over this one...
they both said wash in super hot water, neither said anything specifically about soaps, or stain removers.
I had both Lansinoh for Nursing Mothers and Medela's PureLan 100 stain bras and washable nursing pads... the cotton flannel pads had the worst staining, maybe I was using too much in the beginning, but I had to throw one set away because it was actually more like "crusty" than stained!!
it came out of some, but not others. I just sort of resolved to have stained bras... only my husband and I saw them for any length of time as they were always under a shirt around anyone else, so I just let it be.
ETA.... thanks Babies, I'll remember that for next time... I tossed those out years ago, they were uncomfortable to say the least... lol

Great bra for sleeping
i am a 34dd, and can't find any nursing bras in that size. i was thinking of using plain cotton full coverage bras from victoria's secret, and just pulling the cup down in the front to let my breast out to nurse. those of you with experience, do you think that will be annoying, or do you think it will work out? also, any ideas where i can find a 34dd nursing bra? thank you!
Believe me, that's not the way to go..I tried for a while. In my first pregnancy I was a 40H. You can find your size maternity bra's at any specialty maternity shop such as Mimi Maternity or even look online. Try looking at Target or Walmart they usually have them provided they have them in stock at the time. I had to keep checking with Walmart, but they finally did get some in. I am a 42DD and regular bras are a pain in the rear!!!
Bio Info: Nursing for 4.5 months, not pumping, stay at home mom, size 42 bra, variable cup size, around a D when empty.

So many nursing clothing that I've seen comes with an inner layer with nursing openings. I haven't found a nursing bra that I've liked, so I've resorted to the cotton Hanes sports bras with the thin straps that are super easy to pull down.
So, my question is, do you nursing mom's wear a bra with these tops and dresses, or do they provide enough support. Plus, how would you get the bra unstrapped and it moved out of the way to allow your baby to nurse.
There are so few baby friendly stores in my area, so I'm shopping online. I just can't figure out how some of these tops work!
I wish that I could just wear tank tops or sleeveless tops all year! But it's going to get cold and I need to figure this waredrobe thing out before it does!
Also, if you have any suggestions for websites selling nursing clothing that you've ordered from, please share the URL. As always. thank you, Moms!
Sorry about the typos! I hate it when I find them after I've already posted the question!
I had to shop around quite alot to find a good nursing bra that can really give support, especially for sports bras as I am a runner!
I have almost every bra on this webpage and I love them all http://www.motherwear.com/cat.cfm/cid/54
But I prefer underwire... these one's are from the same site and are all even better! http://www.motherwear.com/cat.cfm/cid/56
Edit: I was browsing the site and I found this page you may find helpful.... it explains the openings with pictures. http://www.motherwear.com/cs/openings.cf m
