Cotton Muslin

I am trying to create my own backdrop, I was wondering if anyone new where to get muslin fabric in Dallas. Also is there a place in Dallas to purchase cheap photography backdrops all ready made?

I'm going for a nonspecific sponge painted look, to make a custom-colored backdrop, like they use for photo portraits.

I've had great success painting backdrops with regular house hold latex paint. You can also buy some artist acrylic colors to punch up your painting after you base coated the muslin in the household latex. Whatever you do stick with latex paints, much easier to work and clean up after.

Personally I didn't like the cotton ones for swaddling as they didn't have any give to them and got unwrapped easily. I used a cotton waffle weave blanket and it worked fine. They also sell swaddling blankets with velcro tabs. They worked like a charm for my 2nd daughter but my son could get right out of his every time. I think he was a much longer baby.

I am using one called a "Moby Wrap" and I LOVE it!!! It's cotton, i believe, and is very easy to use, baby likes it too...check out mobywrap.com

It's not the best answer, but for something that specific your best bet is Google or Craigslist instead of just hoping to come across one in Y!A. Or go with the first answer...the first hit I got Googling "dallas photography supplies backdrops" was Cowboystudios.
