Cotton Interlock

I have not hemmed any lately, but in the past I turned up the hem and used a double needle and sewed as close to the cut edge as possible. It takes some patience because you will be sewing from the outside of the fabric. Also you may serge the edge and then turn it up and use a one or two needles machine hem. Test either process on a scrap first.

A stablizer will keep the interlock from stretching.

I'm expecting and thought I'd make some baby clothes, I have the patterns but not been able to source any suitable fabrics that I can buy in the UK as yet. I've mainly been looking on-line and in local fabric shops. I would like cotton interlock knit fabrics, that are colourful, patterned and a good price. If you know of any fabric shops that stock such fabric it would be great to hear from you, thanks.

if you have a local market, i find lots of unusual and good fabrics on the market stalls, also my local fabric shop order fabric remnants for me, if you ask any shop i am sure they would help. also i have had some brilliant fabrics off ebay.. good luck...

i saw this interlock mini skirt that i bout at american apparel today, it was a small n i thought it would fit alright, but the bottom is a bit loose, since it was the last one, i had to buy it, just wondering will it shrink if i put in the laundry? if so, how much?
cuz i want it to shrink a bit, and when it does shrink, does it stay till that size? thanks

The interlock material doesn't shrink as much, but it'll still shrink a bit in the dryer. However, it'll stretch back out as you're wearing it.
