Im a student artist and can't afford to buy linen canvas, so i can only get cotton canvas boards, but the paint doesn't "flow" easily, it just sinks into the canvas board.

I heard that there is a spray out there that you can put on cotton canvas so that it doesn't absorb as much paint.

is there a company that makes this? the book i read said you could make it from some house cleaning agent that's resein based, but i don't know exactly what it's called. they also mentinoed that you should mix turpintine.

so any help would be nice :)

Really... Get yourself some GESSO.. It's about $9.00... It is water based and there is BLACK and WHITE Gessos... All canvases usually if they are "primed" with gesso. That's where you see "triple primed".....

It goes a LOOONG way and you thin it with water.. Just let it dry a couple of days before ya paint oils etc.... 1 part gesso to 2 or even 3 parts water...

You can use magic white/ black/ clear even while painting with the oils… It is called WET on WET…

does anyone know where I could purchase this product? I've tried to get in touch with the manufacturing company on the bottle, but their website is out of date.
It's called "House Keeping Linen Spray" in Egyptian Cotton. It's a clear bottle filled with amazing smelling blue linen spray. The stuff is addictive. My mother bought it a few years ago at TJ Maxx, then never used it. She gave it to me in July when she moved to FL, and I can't get enough of it....The company listed on the back is "CST, Fall River, MA"
Which I assume is the Commonwealth Soap and Toiletry CO. of Fall River...which I actually think is out of business.....maybe.

I love that stuff.

I got some at Bed, Bath & Beyond made by Commonwealth Gardens a few months ago and the smell was Egyptian Cotton Linen Spray; and I got a lavender scent from Target.

This girl just walked in front of my house with a non-flattering man's plain white T-shirt, baggy straight leg men's jeans and some kind of fabulous purse which would look good at the beach with a summer cotton dress or a linen suit.

Because the trend right now is hideous clothing. The average dumb broad is gonna follow whatever the trend is. But, they are so shallow they have to carry an expensive purse so nobody confuses their "style" for really being poor!
