Would it work well to sew cotton fabric to fleece?

I want to make a shopping cart cover and need to know if sewing cotton to fleece (with a batting inbetween) would hold up well. I've made one using just fleece and it turned out great but I'd like to make a reversible cart cover and have fleece on one side for cold weather and cotton on the other for warmer weather. Would it be easy to sew the two fabrics together - would it hold up to washings? Thanks! I appreciate the help. Hope I placed this in the correct catagory.


It would hold up, just leave out the batting..and use a good short stitch length. I just made a bunch(27) of fleece winter scarves, with flannel on the other side.
Make sure you wash the cotton first before you add it to the fleece to make up for shrinkage. use a 1/4 inch seam allowance. you should have no problems...
Fleece should be think enough to make up for the batting.

They will not shrink.

Fleece is made from recycled plastic.

Recycle the pjs and use a smaller size pattern.

Absolutely, and an added benefit is that it makes it somewhat water repellent. I found this out when looking into using fabric softener on towels (should you or shouldn't you), you shouldn't because it makes them less absorbent.
